Hard to believe but we are 103-103-1 all time at the dump in the swamp. I thought it would be worse, Thanks for the mediocore 26 years Jets. Thanks to Zar for the research 1984-[3-5] 1985-[7-1] 1986-[5-3] 1987-[4-4] 1988-[5-2-1][tie vs kc] 1989-[2-6] 1990-[3-5] 1991-[3-5] 1992-[3-5] 1993-[3-5] 1994-[4-4] 1995-[2-6] 1996-[0-8] 1997-[5-3] 1998-[7-1] 1999-[4-4] 2000-[5-3] 2001-[4-4] 2002-[5-3] 2003-[4-4] 2004-[6-2] 2005-[4-4] 2006-[4-4] 2007-[3-5] 2008-[5-3] 2009-{3-4}
Or go out in a blaze of glory with a scorching 101-99-1 record. At least we are undefeated so far in the new Stadium. How many teams can say that besides the Giants?
So far this decade we've made the playoffs 4 times with a possible 5th this year. We could be doing much worse.
The #s may be off, just glancing at is I notcied he has 3-5 for 1991 and we were 4-4 at home in 1991.
Actually, including this year, we are 103-103-1. The original post did not include this year. Sorry for the confusion
And here is the home record at Shea, which is not any better, dispelling any notion that the Jets had a home field advantage in that sink hole: 1964 5-1-1 1965 3-3-1 1966 4-3 1967 4-2-1 1968 7-1 (including AFC Championship) 1969 5-3 (including playoff loss) 1970 2-5 1971 4-3 1972 4-2 1973 2-4 (lost a home game because of the Mets) 1974 3-4 1975 1-6 1976 2-5 1977 1-6 1978 4-4 1979 6-2 1980 2-6 1981 6-3 (including playoff loss) 1982 3-1 (strike year) 1983 2-6 Total 70-71-3
The years that are wrong are: 1989: we were 1-7 1991: we were 4-4 2001: we were 3-5 Our record at home in non strike games from 1984-current: 101-103-1 Our record at home including strike games: 102-104-1 Our record at meadowlands as home team including 1978 loss(I believe it was '78): 102-105-1 postseason record at meadowlands: 3-1
that can't be right. there have at least been a couple of "road games" against the Giants over the years. Every season only has 8 games.
All I remember is that fokken Kotex year of 1996 when I had first gotten my season tix and got stuck with 3 empty seats most of the year! Ugh! Let's hope we turn shit around. Lift the curse and become a dynasty....hehe.
Home field advantage refers to home vs. road performance; if a team stinks, they're not going to magically go 7-1 at home because of home field advantage. The road record in those years was 55-91-4 (38% winning percentage), so in fact they did have a home field advantage at Shea, although obviously not as big an advantage as some teams have. The more disturbing thing for the future is that they had less home field advantage in the Meadowlands, since their road record in those years is 87-119 (42.2%).
