Cano must be on suicide watch. Javier didn't pitch all that well with us. Maybe this time it will be different? I don't like how we gave up Arodys Vizcaino though, he's a really good pitching prospect. You'll be missed Melky. Time to for the Melkman to deliver for the Braves  Man, the Sterling calls are just depleting.
I like the trade alot. Melky was a fan favorite, but not too big of a loss if you ask me. I like Vazquez a lot. This is a sweet move.
The trade is typical stupid Cashman shit. He had Vazquez and ran him out of town as pointed out above. Now he traded three players and money to get him back. Oh wait, I forgot, he's better now. The fact he was better in the NL probably never even entered brainless's mind.
Don, please, bless us with your brian power. What would you have done different this offseason? Not "Don't trade for so and so", I mean what player would you have targeted that would have been realistic acquisitions?
Why do people insist on feeding the unfunny, boring troll? The guy's already been branded as a know-nothing for all to see. Who cares about what nonsense he spits out...over...and over? Let him make his little observations, pat him on the head, and move on. As far as the trade, once again it's a move to help the team immediately. Vazquez in the rotation as a 3rd/4th starter is more valuable, IMO, than Melky in the OF. I like Melky, but he wasn't an irreplaceable stud by any meands. Actually, my biggest concern, as was alluded to by someone else, is the effect the deal might have on Cano. All in all, though, the Yankees got the best player in the deal, which is good. They're a better team today than yesterday.
Vasquez actually has a better win % in the AL than the NL Don. And only a slightly higher ERA. I think this trade was another unbalanced one, and I don't like the trend. It's a fairly good trade as long as Vasquez pitches to his ability. And I was a Melky fan, so I don't like trading him away. But we still have Brett Gardner!
sources say yanks will try to try one of gaudin or mitre noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I like Melky a lot, but he's really not a great starter. I like Vizcaino too but he's only 19 years old, it's way too early to tell if he's gonna be legit. Dunn I don't really care about (because I see the value of the LOOGY as being incredibly inflated.) All that said, I LOVE this deal. I really don't think people realize how good Javy Vazquez is--he's an innings eater, he strikes out a ton of batters, and (despite what Don might think) he's proven that he can do it in the AL. This offseason Brian Cashman's managed to acquire an all-star centerfielder and an all-star starter while giving up only one of his four top trade assets (Hughes, Joba, Montero, Jackson.) That's pretty damn impressive.
The only thing that bothers me about this trade is that our OF seems to be a little depleted now. I hope they have something up their sleeve. Maybe Damon should be coming back as a DH and a part time LFer.
what about Nick Johnson at DH? I think the Damon ship has sailed, and that they are going to go after a good defensive LF. Mark DeRosa could fit the bill if he lowers his demands.
I'm down with this move. While I liked Melky he was definitely expendible and Vazquez is a quality pitcher with strikeout power. He was chased outta town too soon after 04. Giving up prospects hurts but we are (obviously) a win-now team.
Im about 50/50 on the trade I liked Cabreras production as the 9 hitter and im not sure about the transition back from the NL to the AL but overall the move made sense and now it looks like Johnny will be back soon Im expecting something big coming up. Last year it was the day before my vacation when we signed Tex
