Even though the Jets lost a tough game late I thought Kerry Rhodes played arguably his best game of the season yesterday. He broke up a few passing plays to Gonzalez and even though at the end Gonzalez caught the game winning TD I believe Ryan said he changed the coverage and put 3 guys in the area they thought Gonzalez would be. So that was just a complete breakdown by the defense as a whole.

But anyway I thought he played the pass well and he blew a running play up in the back field as well. Of course I did notice him completely miss one tackel but hey you cant get everything I guess lol.

If only the kid could put some effort into tackling... but yeah I guess he is playing at a good level again.

I still loathe the way he celebrates every tackle like it was a sportscenter highlight, get off your high horse rhodes, you made an effing tackle...

I hear ya' but I don't give a shit if he whips out a hoolahoop to celebrate as long as he makes plays.

He was playing well from what I saw of him at the game. My friend who was watching the Jets for the first time said Rhodes looked like crap today and got embarrassed a few times. I don't know, from what I saw, he looked better.

Aside from his missed tackle on Norwood today, he played very well. If he played like that for every game he would be in the pro bowl right now. I guess his trade value is through the roof at this point.

His tackling is just sooo soft. On Atlanta's last drive, he whiffed on a Norwood tackle, and did not step up to hit Snelling.
I thought he did some more positive things in the passing game, but there is nothing there these last 2 seasons to suggest he's anything but average.

I think that's because every time he tries to tackle someone it seems as though he is a smurf against a mack truck.

    In coverage he is solid...

His tackling form is atrocious. Every time he goes in for a tackle it looks like he's getting run over, even if he drops someone in the backfield. He ducks down way too low. He has to learn to get up in someone's shoulder pads, he's 6'3" for Revis' sakes.

when Rhodes got the big tackle for loss on Norwood it wasn't even a tackle. He basically just fell down on his back and let norwood fall on him.

rhodes played well yesterday but he really thinks he's better then he is

I also laugh every time he makes a play he runs 10 yards away from the pack and has the cool walk to make sure everyone knew it was him.

I laughed when he started celebrating the fact that he fell down and let Norwood fall on him.

I saw flashes of the 06-07 Rhodes.

I also saw him get plowed over like he has time and time again this season.

After seeing him play live, that prancing pony adjective could not be more appropriate if he had a tail.

I think that from now on we should call that celebration dance 'The Speed Bump'.

Every NFL player celebrates like that when they make a play nowadays. It is not just Rhodes. But bash away. Guy has a good game and still gets burned. Geez

I hope Kerry Rhodes has a sinus infection soon.

I saw that, too. Kerry made some excellent pass defenses and got into the backfield a number of times to disrupt the play. I just wish he didn't play so soft. He didn't play soft in 2006.

He does do that! Did anyone notice the warm reception he received during player intros? Think it went something like "BOO" and "YOU SUCK KERRY"....

I'm sure he was happy when he heard the 'Revis' chants about halfway through the game.
