this doesn't qualify for true green, the people who are there are the ones who didnt get 3 feet of snow

This is unreal. If I were in NY I would KILL to go to the games. Instead I get Wisconsin. I mean I've been to Packer games many times (including against the Jets) and Lambeau Field is an amazing place but I would much rather be at Jets games with the chants and seeing my team live.

I make minimum wage and still manage to go to a game every year. Are tickets that expensive where you guys can't afford it?

You would never see a crowd like that in any conditions for a Steeler game, a packer game or pretty much any Northern team still in the playoff race. It was a disgrace.

I know the LIRR cancelled service yesterday, that might have had something to do with it,,,,,,,,,,,that said even if I lived on LI I would have got my ass to the game another way!!!! I was at the game , it was at least half empty and we were loud!!!

Too all of the shmucks saying that "more people should have been there," I don't think that you can really appreciate just how bad the conditions were yesterday, especially on Long Island.

Out where I live, a majority of the secondary roads haven't even been plowed yet, nearly 24 hours later. Yesterday, the LIRR canceled 184 trains, and it took one group of riders nearly 9 hours to go from Penn to Ronkonkoma, a trip that only lasts under 2 hours on a bad day, going nearly 60 miles.

Consider that we also had a 1PM start, and most folks needed to dig themselves out and it's no surprise that the game was far from being standing room only.

The bottom line is noting keeps fans of other teams from getting out to the games. Baltimore had it alot worse than we did and they played before a full house. It wasn't even snowing yesterday morning, maybe a few people were stuck in worse situations but there's no excuse to have 40,000 empty seats.

    Me, Jet-O, 17a all met for a tailgate along w/fam & friends.
We all got snow and we all shoveled our fukin driveways in the morning just to get through the snow, drive to the stadium early to tailgate and cheer for our team.
It was pretty cold and what we had to do just to get to the stadium was hard enough.

For those who couldn't get to the stadium from Long Island or south Jersey because of snow...Fuk it. It's understandable when some of you got 2ft!

It woulda been great to have a full stadium but I'll tell you right now the fans that were there are the die-hards NO QUESTION.
I was screaming the whole game and almost everyone In my section and in my sight was cheering.

Shit, I even looked across the stands and saw PatsHater one section over w/his son goin nutz!
and FTR, The stadium as empty as it was was still pretty loud!

    You just don't get it.

There was 2 FEET OF SNOW on the ground in a good part of the area. How in God's name do you expect people to find their way to the stadium for a 1PM start? 4PM, sure, that could be done.

Roads weren't driveable, trains weren't running, and you expect folks to get there from 50+ miles out. Lame....

South Jersey and Long Island got absolutley killed with Snow. I was able to make it there because I only got a foot. But some people have other things to do when they get hit that hard with snow.

I was talking to a guy on here yesterday and he said that he woke up shoveled his driveway to dig out his car in an effort to make it but they couldnt plow the roads till 2 pm. That sucks for him. Whats he supposed to do?

Season ticket holders have a right to do what they want. They pay good money for their tickets and if they wake up and their buried in snow they have a right to say "screw i im going to have to miss this one".

And for the record that stadium was pretty loud yesterday anyway.

It was alot worse in 2003 against pitt(when it was actually a blizzard in the morning and during the game) and I made it so it could have been done. Again, if this was a home game in Green Bay the Stadium would have been filled, for any cold weather team except us it would have been filled. We just don't have that type of fanbase.

People can do what they want but it was still an embarrassment for our fan base.

The crowd was dead all game long until the 4th qtr

If you go to Pitt, GB, Baltimore the fans are loud all game long when the opponent has the ball. We MAYBE get loud on 3rd or 4th down. The way the corwd was against NE this year is the way we should be every game- at least games late in the year w/ playoff implications.

Funny that you mention how much "worse" it was in 2003. I'd like for you to consider that this was record amount of snowfall for Long Island.

    http://www.newsday.com/long-island/nassau/li-s-biggest-snow-ever-what-you-need-to-know-1.1664094

That's a link to a Newsday article, written today, making specific mention that this was "Long Island's Biggest Snow Ever." I'm sure that you'll find a way and try and convince us that the Pittsburgh game was "alot worse," and that the meterologists are full of shit.

Took the LIRR in after 2+ hour delays and still made it to the game by 1:15.

Sucked not seeing a full stadium but it's totally understandable. Would've been better had these assholes moved the game to 4PM, but it was still pretty loud in there.

Hardcore/Borderline insane fans showed up for sure.

And I would be willing to bet that if our area didnt get pounded with snow (in some areas more then 24 inches) our stadium would have been packed as well.

And not that it matters but teams like GB and Pitt have "loyal" fans that go to all their games no matter what because their two of the most popular franchises in the NFL. They have loyal fans because their very successful. Like I said I have season tickets and im always there but if the Jets year in and year out were a good football team I would be willing to bet that their fanbase would become more "loyal". Its not just about how loyal of a fan you are.

Look how loyal the NE fanbase is now. Was that always the case?

If the Packers were like the Jets and they got hit with snow like they did yesterday I bet you would see more empty seats.
