Just the halftime show alone precludes using this stadium. The electronics, pyrotechnics, live bands and "wardrobe malfunctions" aren't conducive to freezing sleet and a 40mph windchill factor.

As far as doming this stadium, I thought I read somewhere where it is not being built to accept that. I can't imagine trying to span that immense area above the Upper deck... it's got to be 5 times the square footage of Giants Stadium. There is no safe way that you can dome this thing, IMO, to accept that kind of load safely.

Is it somehow news that the owners of a stadium make decisions regarding its construction and modification (and PSLs, for that matter) based on whether or not they can make money on it? Is that not what every business does all the time? Isn't that what we call capitalism?

I feel 100% that companies that pursue profits through (criminal) exploitation of people or the environment should be slapped down hard, but I just don't see the hatred for football team owners who either do or do not put a dome on a stadium for financial reasons. Is it about greed? I imagine so - why is that so surprising?

This storm is one of the reasons we're not going to get the Superbowl. Could you imagine if a storm like this hit on Superbowl sunday? Talk about a shit show!!

I was thinking the same thing. Early February can be just like this.

Yup, this should get a couple more people to buy PSL's - figuring theres actually a possibility they'll have a SuperBowl where you have to hire 200 street people to shovel off the seats ahead of time.

I wonder if they can still put a dome on it even after it was built???

if they plan initial construction for the possibility of adding one later.
