Good News: The Jets played a sound game...the defense was lights out, Revis is still a god, and Feely is money in the bank. The playoff hopes are still alive. Bad News: I was right about Clemens...although he didn't lose the game for us...he certainly didn't help us win it.....Clemens is still "hot steamy garbage". He continues to hold on to the ball way too long...and when he does find a receiver open..he throws it 5-10 feet above their heads. But wait...lemme guess....he didn't get a fair shot. Schotty's play calling was "cutesy" again....in fact, Ian Eagle from CBS stated during the telecast that the Jets need to stop being so "cute" with the playcalling.
The Bad News will open a spot for a tenured veteran like a Kerry Collins type to help sanchez. that's actually good news.
Clemens didn't get a fair shot! Yao Ming and Shaquille O'Neal would've been able to catch those throws!
I noticed that. It was hilarious. I really don't want Sanchez to learn how to become an alcoholic and sling the "n-word", thinking it can be funny. We have next year's QB corps set already.
I thought the playcalling was fine for the most part, he made one bad call that I can remember (the one you referred to with the announcers) but some good ones involving Brad Smith. We have a winning recipe for the rest of the season: strong running game, strong defense and good kicking game. As long as we keep winning the T.O.P and field position battle I think we can make a nice run for a playoff spot
Remember when we were going into this season with Ratliff and Clemens as our QB Camp battle? And most of us were content with that.
One of the more intelligent posts in Pidgeon's TGG career. You've come a long way from that "she had a bunch of white stuff on her face" thread.
Most of us thought he was terrible in '07, but there was no way to know at that time if he would still suck behind a decent OL. This year, he proved that he does indeed suck. Anyone who wrote him off in '07 was premature.
I'm not saying Clemens is a good QB, but he did play fairly decent, all things considered. He hasn't gotten any significant reps all season except for this week, so it is expected that he would look a little rusty. He clearly improved since last week in all areas and he made a few really nice throws. However, he also overthrew a bunch of wide open receivers and held on to the ball too long. I really haven't seen anything that would make me think he could be a good starter for us, but I do not think he played awful like a lot of posters here are saying.
Kellen allowed us to win the game today by not making silly mistakes. And if I'm correct, that's EXACTLY what we were hoping from him. We don't care what his numbers were as long as he didn't turn over the ball and didn't lose the game for us. The defense played up to the test and TJ #20 did what he's been doing all season. I'm very pleased and can't wait to head out next Sunday to watch us stomp ATLANTA
LOL,Very Funny. I held out hope that he could become a decent backup. I will not be taking anymore QB advice from Jaws.
Clemens' performance was a little disappointing but he did what he was asked to do. A few balls sailed on him early and he was a bit hesitant with his throws, but I think his tentativeness was deliberate and in line with the playcalling. He didn't have any turnovers - and while some of his passes were high, none were thrown near defenders. He also looked a little better as the game went on. And I ROFLd when Ian Eagle called Schotty's playcalling "cute".
Clemens is terrible, plain and simple. I'd rather have Brad Smith play QB than watch Clemens play again.
