The Jets still HAVE to win out, if a 9-7 team makes the playoffs this year it won't be the Jets

Indy just clinched 1st place and BYE... why should they play their starters vs the Jags?

The Ravens have left: Bears, at Steelers, at Raiders.

It could be easier. They are not a lock.

Exactly. It's not even the Bills game. It's losing to Miami going into the bye then losing to the Jags coming out of the bye. At this point I'm just hoping someone keeps Miami out because we probably aren't getting in.

Since we are in different divisions the division record doesn't matter in terms of Baltimore

THe Jags suck, Colts will still win, they'll play their starters for the first half at least.

what are they going to do, rest their starters for the last 3 weeks of the season plus the bye? yeah, that sounds like the plan to keep the team sharp for the playoffs.

Baltimore has the better conference record but it is a bit confusing how the tiebreakers work so don't hold me to it

Cus it's way too early to start resting ppl now. Altho, they have a short week. Maybe they'll rest some guys for Thursday, then have them play more against us. I certainly hope not

Look the Broncos are a lock for that #5 spot. We need Pittsburgh or Tennesee to beat Miami and hope Pittsburgh beats the Ravens too. Additionally Jax needs to lose to NE and we got it.

    Here is the tiebreaking procedures

    Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)
    1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the three Wild-Card participants.
    2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
    4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
    5. Strength of victory.
    6. Strength of schedule.
    7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
    8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
    9. Best net points in conference games.
    10. Best net points in all games.
    11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
    12. Coin toss.
