I don't hate Rhodes yet but it is getting close. I really thought he was a good guy when he took the time during minicamps to come over and sign a jersey for me even when the defensive players weren't supposed to be signing. I think he is a very immature person who has a lot of attention, money and talent. The one thing I don't get about Rhodes is how I never noticed his horrendous tackling before this year. The guy turns his shoulder into the ball carrier all the time in attempting to tackle. He needs to get off twitter and work on his game during the offseason or he will be gone from here.
joe, if I remember correctly, when Revis was drafted, Tanny took a lot of shit over insisting on a 6th year as opposed to just 5. It caused Revis to hold out for a while and that made fans really angry at Tanny. Well I'd say that extra year is looking golden now. The holdout was trivial. Genius bit of negotiating.

Does that sound familiar to you, maybe someone in a purple jersey playing in Baltimore with a big number 20 on it? Rhodes is playing like shit because Rhodes doesn't give a shit. He's not the same player he used to be because he is not applying himself like he used to. He used to be the worker who would get in Jeremy Shockey's face during the inter-team scrimmages we used to have with the Giants. Rhodes lack of effort is extremely disapointing but his bragging about is disturbing. This guy was one of my favorite players but to watch the shit he has turned into the last 2 years has made him worthless in my mind. The guy has turned into dogshit as a player but his ego has grown like he is a pro bowler.

No, Rhodes' comments and history imply that he turned it off at one point but can turn it back on. Russell never had it on to begin with.
The hate for Rhodes is ridiculous. He's playing in his 3rd defensive system in 5 years (2005 Cover 2, 2006-2008 whatever that thing is that Mangini runs, 2009 Ryan's Raving Lunatics.) In that time he's gone from being a very good player to just a good one. There's no question he's regressed but he's still a decent player. The Jets probably have to get rid of him at this point but we're going to be very unhappy if he stays in the division and we have to play him twice a year. A motivated Kerry Rhodes is a pretty good player.
When'd he forget how to tackle?? I remember a few years ago he was actually pretty good at laying out hits. Now he shies away from contact and has horrible form in attempting tackles as opposed to wrapping up.
