Texas wins because of the kickoff out of bounds (reminiscent of John Kasay screwing the Panthers in the Super Bowl against the Cheats) and the horsecollar.
That was the clincher right there. It's ironic because Nebraska's kicker was so clutch all night scoring all of their points including a 52 yarder and the 40+ yarder to take the lead.
Different kicker... I'd love to see the human polls have the balls to put tcu at 2. They deserve it far more than Texas. That near disaster with clock management would have been one of the biggest screw ups of all time. For that alone they shouldn't be in the title game. I'm usually all for a win is a win, but this win was just pathetic and not title worthy at all.
That was a fucked up ending to the game god damn I dont want either team to win...but ultimately my hate for nick saban makes me root for the longhorns
How has no one mentioned the Fresno State vs. Illinois game? Look, I know Illinois sucks complete balls, but the way Fresno won that game was amazing. The touchdown to set up the lucky play was an amazingly athletic play by Jamel Hamler. I can honestly say that the Fresno 2 point conversion for the win was the luckiest player that I have ever seen.
watching Hawai'i-Wisconsin. Some guy with a Santa coat over his underwear just went sprinting down the field. Didn't take security long to get him. TCU belongs in over Texas, but they needed Texas to lose. A shame. As mentioned, they have a different kicker for FGs and kickoffs. This is more common in college because there aren't the limitations you have in the NFL (only a 53 man active roster). Anyway, Henery handled both the FGs and punts, oddly enough. Kunalic did the kickoffs. Henery had 8 punts and four FGs. I'm watching a stream of the Wisconsin game and the dude streaming it just started playing minesweeper over the game.
I was watching a stream of the Fresno/Idaho game a few weeks ago and the guy streaming the game (an Idaho Vandals' fan) would pull up Paint and randomly start drawing dicks. It reminded me of Superbad.
the best story was during the NBA playoffs in like 2007. The guy switched to hardcore porn for about five seconds. It was on justin.tv. The chatters went crazy. It's funny, none of the people whining about what "frauds" Texas are seems to care that Alabama came just as close to losing to a Tennessee team that's certainly worse than Nebraska just a few weeks ago. NCAA football is the ultimate "what have you done for me lately" sport. I've got news for you guys: not only is Texas not as bad as they looked yesterday, but Alabama isn't as good as they looked. I think we're on track for a really good, competitive title game and I think that the two best teams in the country are playing in it.
Why do you hate Saban so much?, I'm a MS fan and he was very good for them, I felt like he used them to jump start his career, but most coaches do that anyway.
Mike Francesa: "The Nebraska lineman isn't winning the Heisman. I don't care what the commentators say, he isn't even going to come close. No one even heard of him before yesterday." Classic clueless Francesa. No one said Suh would come close. Doesn't mean he doesn't deserve it, though. No non-skill position player, and especially not a lineman, is going to win the Heisman because the voters are asses. It's basically QBs with the occasional RB thrown in. The ironic part? John W. Heisman was a lineman. Francesa hasn't heard of any non-skill position college players, and if he hasn't heard of them, well no one has.
To say that noone had heard of Suh before yesterday makes Francesa sound naive, at best. Charles Woodson is the only defensive player primarily to have ever won the Heisman. He was so dominant that year as a DB as well as returning kicks that he had to be included in the preceedings. You could make the same argument for Suh this year. Woodson beat Peyton Manning out to win the award in '97.
Suh is by far the most dominating defensive player in college football, but Woodson was also an excellent return man like you said. After yesterday, I'd like to see Toby Gerhart, Ndamukong Suh, or CJ Spiller win the award. I think out of the "big" three Mark Ingram should win. He beat Tebow in the SEC title game and McCoy had an awful game against Suh's Cornhuskers.
I agree that out of the "big three" Ingram should win, but I don't know if it's fair to say that he beat Tebow...Florida was truly dominated in every facet of that game. Aside from Tebow's putrid INT in the end zone he was the best player on the field for the Gators, they were just outmatched up front and in the secondary (not a good combo.)
