Laser throw to Keller followed by a fumble at the endzone.

Just watching that throw over and over again, I'm impressed with this guy's natural talent and potential as long as he's coached well and NY Media and fanbase doesn't run him out of town.

Most of his interceptions thus far have been mental errors and bad decisions, rather than his lack of ability.

as long as he's not "fluttering" balls like Pennington....I'm a happy camper.

Peyton Manning has a good but not great arm. His ability is based on having absolutely every asset you need to be a great QB at the 100% level.

Eli's arm is stronger than Peyton by a good bit and Carson Palmer makes them both look like slackers.

I can live with the pick Sanchez threw yesterday. He was off by about 6 inches. With better placement, Edwards takes it to the house. Good defensive play by #20 (who's name escapes me right now)...was it Gamble?

Agreed. That pick was a bad throw and on him, but as picks go it was not his worst by far.A half foot, or maybe a foot, to the front of edwards and its at least a frist down. It was not a mental error. He found single coverage and threw at it.

The kid has the arm to make every throw. He's not Joe Falcco, but he's far greater than the last few years of Chad. He has the physical tools. He just needs to let the game come to him and not try to put the team on his shoulders. He does not have to be "the man" who wins the game, but he needs to become the one who is not throwign it away. Its a slow progression, but I feel he is making strides.

Sanchez's arm is fine. I would say Sanchez arm is average/slightly better. He has a tendency to put too much air on long throws.

Even Petyon Manning's arm isn't the strongest. Much better than average. Peyton has a quick release.

I love QBs that have quick releases......Marino was the best.

Cutler, Palmer and the old man in Minny have the strongest arms in the NFL.

I think Flacco should at least be in the conversation for that. The guy has a Laser/rocket arm to quote Manning.

I just wish he didn't PANIC when he was under pressure. That is NOT a rookie mistake. I am pretty sure they had a pass-rush in the PAC-10.

    You're right ..Harp!!!

Flacco's arm is real good, overlooked him. I still think Cutler and Palmer's arms are stronger. The old man can still move the ball too.

What? Since when is panicking under pressure not a rookie mistake?

yea he seems to trust his line much less now than the early part of the season.

Still, I'd be more scared of Mario Williams, Jevon Kearse, Vince Wilfork, Charles Grant, Julius Peppers chasing me down than Jason Taylor & Pac-10 D Line.

Sorry to all you PAC10 junkies out there, but a PAC10 pass-rush just isn't quite the same as a typical NFL pass rush....I'm sure he figured that out after the first couple of hits.

There is a HUGE gap in size and speed of the NFL compared to ANY college conference (yes, even the mighty SEC). I'm not surprised he's had to readjust, with panic-y moments in there

Sanchez's arm will look great whenever he gets to throw from the pocket. Using the run to set up the pass, as they did yesterday, will allow Sanchez time in the pocket.

As long as we run the ball a lot, Sanchez will play like a franchise QB. That's the offensive scheme Rex had in mind when he drafted Sanchez, and it's the one that will lead to victories.

It just took the principal to sit in on the class for the teacher to get the lesson plan in shape.

I was thinking the same thing before I read this post. Flacco can really wing it when he needs to....

His deep ball might not fly as far as a lot of other QBs, but it's more accurate than a lot of them.

Haven't seen him throw a 12-15 yard out from the far hashmarks yet though.

So as long as he only has to throw 17 times a game, he'll be fine? Well that is a comforting notion.

Where did you infer that from what I wrote? I expect better from you than a strawman argument, Tbird.

As I said, he'll look great when he gets to throw from the pocket often. That will be aided when we run the ball a lot. I'm not saying we have to run 80% of the time or that he can never roll out. I'm simply saying that if we use the run to set up the pass, Sanchez will be a star QB, because he will have time to throw.

Look, I want Sanchez to be the best Jets QB of all time. Seriously. I would eat my own shit if it meant he would live up to the expectations, crawl thru broken glass naked while laughing uncontrollably and give up beer too.

I WANT to believe in Sanchez. I really do. We're F'd if he busts. I WANT to be wrong about him. Honestly.

This color code thing... does NOT give me any more confidence in him. 17 throws and he STILL threw a pick. He needs to get through a game with 25 throws without a turnover. That's all I want to see. Win a game with his arm and making plays. Stop repeating the same mistakes. I don't think I'm asking a lot.

Has there ever been a rookie QB who got this kind of kid glove treatment?
