I sure hope the Yanks come up and beat the BoSox offer...I don't want to give up Casey or any of the pitchers for 1 year and the first crack at a new deal.
Fangraphs wrote a piece about how Montero won't even be worth Halladay alone. A top 3 hitting prospect at catcher? Yeah, good luck with that. He won't be traded-- unless Lind is included in that package for Halladay. And don't believe the FUD you hear about him not being able to stick behind the plate-- before he went down in AA he was throwing out runners at a 32% clip.
I don't want the Yankees to give up the farm for Halladay. What I'm wondering is why aren't the Mets making a serious push for the guy?
because the world series is the championship of baseball and since the yankees won the world series they are champions. i really hope when you say "stankees" it takes the sting out of your postseason experiences this year.
I don't believe the questions about him sticking behind the plate had as much to do with his defensive abilities as it did with his size. He's listed at 6'4" and 225 lbs... and he's not even 20 years old.
The "10" part of it makes no sense. 2009 Champions, 2009-2010 off-season thread is more like it. The season ended two months before 2010 began. Nothing at all about that championship involved the year 2010. I think that's what he's getting at.
Either the Red Sox or the Yanks..are potentially gonna get raped in a deal for Halladay....which team will blink first. This is going to be a fun bidding war to watch. http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=300471
^ wow Theo Epstein must really be sold on Clay Buchholz. He should be doing all he can to get rid of that garbage. Then again, I'd like the Sox to keep that turd on the roster.
As much as I'd hate to see Halladay in pinstripes.....the Jays need a catcher...and Montero would fit nicely.
