Given what we've seen of him would you like to see us resign him in the offseason?
And to expand on this topic of next season, if we can dump salaries in a non capped year who would you dump?
Obviously Gholston would be one but i seariously would consider dumping Roades if we could find a better alternative on the market. To me he is an average player so it shouldn't be too hard to replace him.
    Thoughts?

edwards needs to be signed or that trade is an awful trade. give him and sanchez an offseason and training camp to grow into something special.

Yes, Edwards is an absolute beast and the struggles so far has been in my opinion because of mis-communication and lack of chemistry.

I am seriously debating about making a Spelling Thread.
    Rhodes not Rhoades
    Leonhard not Leonard
    Kris not Chris

I could go on for so long...

I'm all for keeping Edwards, but if we don't, as long as we get compensation that is at least equal to what we gave up, I'm not sure how it was an awful trade...of course if we just dump him, then wtf

Letting Edwards walk after giving up 2 draft picks for him would be a horrible, horrible decision. The issues he has CAN be addressed, it's just a matter of motivation and coaching. He's a talented player and brings a lot to the team, even right now, and replacing him would require giving up another 1st round pick, a bigger salary hit and would still be a gamble.

I have no doubt Gholston will be cut if we go uncapped. Personally, I'd like to see him resigned at a more deserved salary.

With Rhodes, it depends how he reacts to Rex benching him. If he gets his act together, he's definitely worth keeping. If he doesn't and continues making excuses for his shitty play, I think he's done.

We NEED Braylon Edwards going forward, he's going to be a big time weapon for Sanchez. W/ Braylon, Cotch, keller and leon out of the backfield he'll have all the weapons he needs.

    Gholston is probably gone.

    Edwards must be re-signed.

Rhodes is completely dependent on what he does next week in reaction to this benching. He has the talent, does he have the heart is the question.

ding ding ding! Edwards needs to be signed...he fills a need for this team.

my only concern is that he's fallen under Kerry Roades' influence....and will eventually "dog it" after he gets his payday.

I think benching Rhodes will send a message to other players too, mostly Edwards.

It's funny because I'm picturing David Harris yelling at his computer screen as I read that.

I understand some people don't wanna dump Edwards after that trade for fear of making the FO look foolish, but he's gonna have to get used to the idea that he's not worth the 10M per year that he's been looking for. Re-signing him to that long-term contract, IMO, would be worst than the initial trade that got him here in the first place. If he won't budge, I wouldn't think twice trading his ass for a 2nd or 3rd, or better yet, package a deal for a 2nd & 4th for Edwards and Rhodes.

Edwards, or some other legitimate receiving threat, has to be signed. I don't care how many balls he did or didn't drop so far, he is a big part of why the running game has opened up. Removing that threeat would not be very smart. Also his upside as a potential long term target for Sanchize is huge.

I don't know that he's worth what he was looking for in Cleveland, I'll leave that to Ryan and MT to decide. I also don't know that he wasn't asking for that kind of money in Cleveland as a way to get out of there either. He seems a lot happier here, and he seems like he wants to be here.
