Sometimes the best pass you will ever make during a game is the one you throw to the waterboy. If Sanchez learns one thing from yesterday, I want it to be that.

Maybe he's "trying too hard" and wants to take the responsibility on his own too much. It's Ryan's job to call him on that and tell him that while he appreciates that, he has to knock it the fuck off already because it's killing the rest of team. Ryan already said he talked to Sanchez at least once already about "protecting of the ball."

With all of Ryans seemingly big-balls bravado I'm surprised he isn't more visible and publicly vocal on this now. There's a time and place for that too... and a time and place in Sanchez' career that calls for that kind of tongue-lashing... probably the best thing that could ever happen to Sanchez at this point in his career. He'll get over it. He'll have to if he wants to be a superstar in the NFL. And the residual benefit is that the rest of the team sees that Ryan is fed up with the fucking mistakes and still clings to hope. Otherwise, Ryan risks the loss of the entire team, which won't be pretty going down the stretch.

NO my friend its not just 10 games, its training camp and all those days of practice during the week before the games. thats plenty of time the 10 games are supposed to be the result of practicing plays on which chemistry is established.

What I thought was amazing yesterday was some of those Brady-Welker hookups. I mean, Brady's eyes were on him the whole time and he STILL made the completion to the little weasel. It seems like there is nothing we can do to defend against the Brady-Weasel hookup. It happens so fast that it's almost impossible to defend, even when you know it's coming.

He said 13 in three games. I counted three games added up to 12. THis is not rocket science. He was wrong.

    sorry bud...it's too early.

You mentioned Peyton Manning in an earlier post....do you remember how bad he was and the Colts were in his rookie season.

Save your rage for year 3 ...4 even. If Sanchez continues to play like this.

This season is a transition/learning year for our HC and our QB....your expectations are obviously "thru the roof"....which means you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you continue down that path.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets go 4-12 for the season this year.....injuries, playcalling, rookie seasons...it's all factoring in here.

Tanny needs to start building this team through the draft....starting with the 5 picks he has coming up. If he trades anything...it should be for more picks.

I will join your "mob of destruction" if Sanchez continues to play like this 2 years from now and there are no signs of improvement.....but in the meantime.....relax, and let him take his lumps.

How do QB's typically get much better their 2nd year? Is it from a full offseason of studying film of their disastrous first season?

learning a new system sometimes takes years to fully "grasp".

Also remember...Sanchez did a lot of "winning" when he was in college.....he's learning to deal with adversity this year...in addition to learning this system.

    the game slows down.

its like anything else you do in life. The more you do, the more you learn, the better you get.

if not, then you have a problem.

will people stop mentioning peyton mannings rookie year....while manning threw alot of picks he also managed to throw alot of touchdowns. Mark sanchez has not.....I am not saying mark sanchez is a bust or anything because i do believe he has the potential but to put him in the same sentence as Peyton even if you are talking about his rookie year is an insult. Peyton stat line: 326 575 35.9 56.7 3739 233.7 6.5 26 28 22 71.2

    Mark Sanchez: 10 10 138 265 52.1 1,791 6.8 10 16 17 141 61.1 25 62 2.5 3 9 3

Sorry but they are not comparable....

people still dont seem to understand where im getting at jeez, SANCHEZ IS MEXICAN BORN IN THE USA im italian and mexican, i want him to excel im not hating on him, im just stating correctable things should be corrected, things he is not doing therefore not learning, learning defenses takes more than one year, learning the playbook fully takes atleast 1 full season, but looking of safeties and not eye locking a WR can be learned now, as he gains experience he would not need to look off defenses because by that time he would know defenses like brady to welker, but now he doesnt know defenses which is paramount for him to look the defenses off, learn to adapt based on your knowledge of things jeez...

3 things sanchez must do better

    1. Look off the coverage, on that first pick he stared it down, easy pick 6, he needs to manipulate the safetys and create gaps to put the ball in

    2. Footwork, footwork, footwork...he needs to work on a nice smooth 5 step drop, not a 9 step salsa, it is too hard for the o-line to create a pocket when they don't know where the hell the qb is, he needs to hand in the pocket, set his feet, and let it rip..very coachable

    3. Decision making...i know this is obvious but still, very important, i would like to see sanchez scramble more, i know he is trying to make plays down field, but fact of the matter is that when the play breaks down he isn't making big ben like plays, he needs to just take the yards with his legs and live to die another day

I agree MB. If Phil Simms says "these things take time" after the overthrow of Keller (still catchable, but Keller was suprised and ducked) I will take his word over a few posters on here.

People talk about chemistry, He started the year with Cotchery and Stuckey as the starting WRs. Then they bring in Edwards, now Cotchery goes out with an injury and Clowney is starting. Then Cotchery comes back and Clowney moves to the slot, getting limited reps at that due to Jets running mostly two WR sets. Combine that with some questionable play calls and you can see why he is struggling. He is forcing throws, hurrying and out of synch.
And I agree with the posters who ask, where the hell is the screen game? Give the kid a chance to make some short high percentage throws to get warmed up.

Relax, the season is a washout at this point anyway, and let Sanchez learn. As Ryan put it "he is not going to learn by just sitting there".

Carrol is just mad because his USC team on offense has no good QB at this time, he expected him to stay and he didn't it was a smart move by Sanchez at the time (regardless with Colt and Bradford not having outstanding seasons) Sanchez could of stayed and been the first QB taken, i'm glad he came out last year
