Really? You want to make that comparison? That may do nothing but make people look at what the future holds in NY if someone doesn't sit this kid down and show him what he's doing wrong. KC may not have many starts under his belt, and I am really not saying we should start him. I do think that some time in the backseat may be valuable to a QB that is struggling. Clemens has seen a lot of film, and knows the offense. He deserves a shot if Sanchez continues to struggle with INT's. Cutler is in a different situation. The Bears feel he is the missing piece, and they have no real back up to go to when he struggles.
With Cutler the Bears have a chance to win. Sanchez.....right now...no shot. I turned from the game today. Another wasted year. I hope this kid learns to play the QB position and becomes part of a bright NY Jets future.
you can say that about a lot of QBs though... honestly I wish the NFL would get something like an official scorekeeper where they can assign picks to either a QB OR the receiver (same with incompletions verse drops). The current statline system just doesn't paint an accurate picture for a QB's effectiveness
So I guess him saying I know very little of football followed by 3 cute smiles= a great poster and being good at arguments? I didnt know that, I should do it some more maybe. I am saying that INTs do hurt but as shown by Cutler's game vs SF, you can STILL be in the game. Chicago was very close to stealing the game and it was because despite all the injuries, that Bear D clamped on the 49ers and held that offense in check. Not stopping Maroney and Welker is what hurt us, it burned time off the clock and it kept drives going. Sanchez had a bad day, but to say that everyone else was absolutely great like some posters have been doing here is laughable at best.
Really? Because on top of the 4 games he has ALREADY won, he put us up late in the 4th quarter on two more (MIA #1 and Jax), and for sure gave us a "chance to win" during the second Miami game....so that's 7/10 games he's won or put us in position to win
Baker....I guess if you're friends with someone that makes them a good poster. I guess they need to stick to the Bullshit forum. Right on, Brady and Welker won the game.
We have a rookie QB and you all want a 10 year starter with a number of pro-bowl starts. This year is a write off, the only thing that matters is how much Rex and Sanchez improve and learn from their mistakes.
The fact is, we have a QB who is not afraid to let his arm dig him out of situations. When you are completely on the same page with all of your receivers, and a have little bit of luck, you have a great QB on your hands. I see a lot of passes that are just off the mark only because the receiver and the QB are just a split second off in the timing. Once that timing gets better, and it will, there will be many less interceptions. But the only way the timing becomes perfect is through repetition to the point where being in the right spot at the right time is like breathing, something you just do without thinking about it. Until then, suffer the picks and know that you have to walk before you can run. By the last few games of this season, he won't be a rookie anymore. But for the rest of this season, I'm giving him a mulligan anyway. Come back next year, with Leon and Jenkins, and lets make a run. Until then, try to enjoy the development; forgive the mistakes that have to be made in order to learn; and keep the eventual payoff for living through these miserable losses in sight and mind.
Okay well he has game experience now. How's he look to you? Why would you want to ignore what other successful QBs have done??? That would be really stupid and myopic of you. Tom Brady played for 2 seasons at Michigan and then he developed as a rookie by WATCHING THE NFL GAME FROM THE SIDELINES. I'd say that Brady has turned out to be a pretty decent QB wouldn't you? And at this point it is clear that you have guessed wrong. Naming Sanchez as the starting QB and insisting that he start every single game has not resulted in Sanchez or his team being very successful at this point in his NFL Career. In fact Sanchez is one of the worst QBs in the NFL right now. When do you anticipate that all of this experience will pay dividends? Yes you are I agree completely. I am suggesting that starting Sanchez from game one was not necessarily the only way to develop him or even neccessarily the best way to develop him. He has played poorly this season and he does not seem to be improving. Given your hypothesis you would think that since you believe that all he needs is experience playing in games, that given that experience he would be improving. In fact he doesn't seem to be markedly improving at all. I am suggesting that the rookie head coach made a poor decision with the rookie qb and that his development as an NFL QB may in fact be hampered or damaged by that decision. First of all Dr. Freud where did you get your license to practice clinical psychology? Secondly his head already appears to have been seriously fucked with by getting his ass kicked and failing repeatedly. Thirdly if his ego and psyche are so fragile that is unable to start his rookie season in a backup QB role then that would mean he is a pussy and prima donna who is never going be successful since he is unwilling to work to actually earn the job and that he expects everything be handed to him on a silver platter. Knowing Sanchez is not a prima donna and knowning that he is willing to work hard - I think he would have been much better off from a QB development perspective by not being the named the starting QB right out of the gate.
You've never seen Abdul Salaam post? Or me? I don't say much, but I'm around all the time...and abdulsalaam has been around forever...just defending his knowledge that's all...whatever who cares lol
Did you steal that from Jack Handey? I don't care who our QB is, I want to see some wins. Sanchez, O'Connell, Buddy Ryan, it doesn't matter. Protect the ball and win some games. I know it doesn't all fall at the feet of the QB, but damn, when you turn it over 5 times on multiple occasions through the year? The D and ST's need to make some big plays too. We need some non offensive TD's. This may be the reason Sanchez tries to do so much. He needs to realize that not every throw will be the one that goes for the TD.
So, by your logic, I could say that Peyton and Aikman played awfully in their rookie years, but took the lumps, and they turned out to be pretty good, so then Sanchez will, because, hey, it worked for them. Am I right? I don't see how their situations or Joe Montana's has ANYTHING to do with Sanchez. He's a completely different player/person. Direct yer attention to the present, to Sanchez and this situation -- not what others have done. This isn't a court of law where citing past examples proves something. It proves absolutely nothing.
A season is broken down into 4 quarters. I would agree that the first qtr of the season Sanchez was tremendous for us. However, where is the growth at the QB position? In the second Miami game he did have a chance to win in the fourth qtr. He just seems to be making terrible decisions in game 10. I am not a Sanchez hater, but come on. Sit him down and give him a chance to study the game a little more. He is regressing, that's all I am saying. It seems as if each component of the team (Offense, Defense, Special Teams) finds a way to lose. However today, we had no chance to win with the kid.
