I'm fully expecting a hair-pulling contest to break out in this thread. Sanchez sucked today. He has sucked for much of the season. He has also shown flashes of the talent that made him a top five pick. There's a reason most rookie QB's don't start. We're seeing a lot of those reasons this season. But he's learning a lot of things on the fly. And yeah, he's going to repeat mistakes. No, that's not the coaches fault. But it's not a sign that he's a bust, either. Benching him might do him some good. Or not. Probably doesn't matter much either way. Were it not for the first three games (one of them being a win over the Pats), people wouldn't be expecting nearly as much out of him this year, and so wouldn't be nearly as upset with his play. I mostly wrote this season off when they named a rookie QB the starter, and even more so when Jenkins and Leon went down.
Ok he is a rookie QB... but how is a recieving corp of Cotchery, Edwards and Keller below average? How is the Oline we all raved about average? How is TJ (the numbers speak for himself, and remember at the beginning of the season I was a TJ hater) average? No one expects him to go 16-0 but with that Oline, with that RB and most of all throwing to those guys if something goes wrong you do get the feeling most of the fault could be on Sanchez shoulders. As I said many times I'm sure he'll learn from this... but he needs to sit down and re-focus... he'll become a great QB for us but you can't take away the fact he is committing MANY mistakes by himself.
i was called the human nfl encyclopedia in high school.... i know everything about the jets .... dare to test my knowledge
I know he's a rookie. Does that mean it's OK for him to get worse, not better? And kiss my ass. There was nothing over the top in my post. I didn't say he will always be this bad, and I don't need to take a chill pill, that is until your moronic reply. I expected more from a new mod.
he's a fucking rookie.... if he's playing like this in year 3 or 4......then you'd have a point. But right now....in the present.....to jump on this kid's back this early in his career...is just flat out ridiculous. I've said this in previous weeks....and I'll say it again.......forget this season....this is a learning year for Sanchez....get it through your thick skull.
I double dog dare you to delete your TGG account. No one would notice. (BTW, I could ask you anything and you could just Google it - the interwebz is awesome)
must give sanchez his rookie season...Its really a learning curve, as well as, experience for him to work on and improve. Sanchez is this teams future...but the work ethic of the players and the OC must be changed
He seems to be repeating the same mistakes. I still support him, but feel he could benefit from a breather. I'm thinking long term development here. Maybe he could learn a few things from watching an NFL game or two from the sidelines, something he's never done, instead of trying to figure it out for the first time during the heat of the battle.
biggest difference between Flaco/Ryan and Sanchez is that Sanchez had never started even a full NFL seasons worth of games I don't believe, if it was 16 it was barely 16. Given Sanchez's inexperience I really felt he should have been on the bench this season. We've seen Sanchez's raw ability, but we've more than seen his lack of experience. Sanchez is still the future in my eyes, but what we're seeing is a QB who had very little experience in college getting schooled in the NFL, hardcore.
I have played team sports. When I played poorly, my coach took me out, so your comparison helps my argument from what I can see.
Sorry you didn't like my response, but I will not kiss your overreacting ass. You can kiss mine. Im curious, what were your expectations for Sanchez this season? SB or bust?
