It was a big loss because it pretty much killed any playoff hopes this team may have had. Nothing less than winning out will earn a playoff berth at this point and we still have to play NE, ATL, IND, and CIN.
If you think the Pats are gonna put up more than 30 against us your a fucking idiot. They couldn't even do that in 07 when they were unstoppable and our defense was shit. Just another faggit dolphins fan coming over here and trying to start shit. Of course he would come in this thread too.
Point taken. Lose to NE this week and that will be huge. That clinches the no playoffs scenario for the Jets. The Fins are in the same boat. If they lose at Carolina, they won't make the playoffs.
yea seriously. i could use a good cry anyways, its been a while. How about this, if we beat new england next week, ill cry. We could all use a good cry, rex is just man enough to actually do it.
honestly though, i dont think anybody should have let any of this information out of the locker room, just more shit we have to deal with as jet fans.
damien woody mentioned that he was crying but I dont know if it got out before that. I wonder if rex was like "who the fuck actually told them I cried?? " Im not sure if he appreciated that getting out, it seemed more like a personal thing to be shared with the team.
Based on the persona he projects, I doubt if he is to happy about it. The players don't need the crap the media will dish out while trying to prepare for the Pats.
its not like he shedded tears after our loss, he was just truly believing in what he was saying. hopefully these players will respond, and get a HUGE win this week.
I briefly searched but couldn't find a vid of it... one of the greatest interviews I ever saw was with Dick Vermeil, in which he started crying in reaction to watching a clip of himself crying during an emotional speech. I believe that's called Metacrying.
I'm with the posters feeling that this should have stayed a private matter. If the players truly "love" Rex the way they seem to talk, then every one of them should have realized that the media (especially in NY) would pounce on this. I personally don't have a problem with whatever tactics Ryan employs to get through to the team. Honestly though, Woody NEVER should have said anything. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up paying for this in some way.
Rogers Hornsby was my manager, and he called me a talking pile of pigshit. And that was when my parents drove all the way down from Michigan to see me play the game. And did I cry? No. And you know why?
In fairness Rex had just finished showing the team the Movie Terms of Endearment to show them that if they stick together as a family, they can get through anything. I was balling after my wife made me watch that. It could have been worse, imagine if they watched Old Yeller or Bambi?
