ND gains 10 on 3rd down. There was a 5 yard penalty on ND, and Wannstedt declined. I would've accepted. Would've been 3rd and 21 and there's a good chance ND would've had to punt out of their own endzone.
Clausen picked off on a deep bomb on 2nd and 10. Basically the equivalent of a 58 yard punt with no return. next play, the second bad exchange between the center on Stull. 2nd time Stull falls on it. 2nd and 22. Draw play makes it 3rd and 20. Pittsburgh forced to punt, and ND will get it at their 38, with better field position than when Clausen was picked off.
Golden Boys tie it with a 42 yarder because it was 40+, they used their kickoff man on the FG 3-3 this was expected to be a high scoring game.
I honestly think they can play with anybody in the country, I don't know how teams can score on them. As an MWC guy I need some teams to lose especially Texas. If the Horns fall (which seems unlikely at this point) they'll slide up to 3 and soembody destroys somebody in the SEC title game. That should move them into #2. The question then becomes a nightmare for the BCS should TCU, Boise, Cinci all have 0 losses and possibly getting passed up for a 1 loss Texas or even SEC school. Even though Cinci is a BCS school nobody wants them in that game... The MWC is really helping it's case to become the 7th BCS conference because TCU is about as good defensivley as that Utah team was offensively in 04.
3rd and 10 for Pitt, with 3:30 left in the half Tressel will coach in the Rose Bowl for the first time this season. If Oregon wins tonight, they'll probably be Ohio State's opponent. Stull just hit Baldwin on a long TD.
Pitt had 4th and 3 from the ND 37 with 51 seconds left, but instead of going for it (which would've been the right call), they punt. ND runs out the clock. 10-3 Pitt at halftime.
4th and 1 in their own territory, Weis goes for it. play fake, deep throw, 44 yard gain. At the Pitt 16
ABC/ESPN missed a play in order to show a cameraman laying on the ground. ND in Pitt territory, down 18
