The alternative is this, if Pats win: NE______6-2 NY______4-4 Miami____3-5 In this scenario we are pretty much relegated to chasing a wild card.

There is only one way to look at this. The correct way is : Root for the Dolphins. They are 3-4 and will finish the season with around 7 to 9 wins. The Patriots are currently 5-2 and will end the season with around 11 to 13 wins, maybe more. Obviously, you root for the Dolphins to knock the Patriots down. The Patriots are the only threat for the division title.
I'm not going to root for anybody, how about that? Fuck them both. I'll watch the games and what happens happens, it's Week 9. If we need one of them to win in Week 16 or 17 that's different, rooting for either of them now is a waste of energy.
To put it another way, if the Pats win, we'll probably be praying for the Fish to win in their rematch.

I didn't care.. You are correct, I hate them both. First of all, the goal is to never put ourselves in a position where we need help from another team to back into the playoffs. Second of all, they are rivals, it is not ludacris to want our rival to lose period, regardless of the circumstance. No, it's not stupid. You just keep rooting for the teams in the same division as us to win, I hope it helps you sleep better at night. I really do.

Patriots win....I like this scenerio, now we need the colts to beat the pats next week, which is very possible. That will set up an epic battle in new england the following week. We win that we will sit on top of the division with us heading home to play carolina and the patriots having to play the saints. This of course is all possible if we beat the Jags lol but i think we will come out swinging and get on a nice roll....
