http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings I love the line about the Jets. "If the Jets were to win a national lottery, the winning ticket would fly out of their office and land with the Dolphins. (Clayton)" I know these mean nothing, but that paragraph pretty much sums up our 2 losses to the Phins. Certainly the latter.
I'm not surprised at all that the Jets are ahead of the Phins. At least someone else finally realizes that tthe Jets are better than the Gay Sharks.
power rankings does'nt mean shit, this is not the ncaa, but yes, us being ranked ahead of the dolphfags is correct
Ranking us ahead of Miami is a joke. The beat us twice in 3 weeks, killed Buffalo who we lost to. Anyone who thinks the Jets are better than Miami is like a 10 year old who plays sports without keeping score.
I think they are more resilent, smarter, and a hell of a lot more disciplined then the Jets. I don't think they are the better team as a collective unit. We far out weigh the talent in Miami. The Jets beat themselves, simple as that.
Our team is definitely better then Miami, like I said earlier. The Raiders beat the Eagles. The second game was ours, but lets not go down this road again.
As a collective unit they beat us twice, once dominating us in TOP, running the ball down our throats and once by dominating our special teams, coming up with a long killer drive against our D when they needed it and stoping us in the red zone on D. We have some very talented players as do they. We essentially have one elite talent on our team right now, Revis, they have two elite talents in Brown and Williams. The rest of both teams are pretty even although we probably have a huge edge at WR right now which we can't exploit because of a rookie QB.
what????????? we did exploit our wr's and te against them. and are you saying r.williams is more elite than t.jones? and that o-lineman cant be considered elite? cause fannaca, and mangold seem pretty elite to me
Fannaca pretty much sucked against Miami and was one of the key reasons we lost the game. As much as we like to lick Thomas Jones ass, there isn't a down and distance situation that will ever come up where Ricky wouldn't be in ahead of Thomas Jones. Mangold is a great young player.
i disagree tremendously, its time for t.jones to get some RESPECT, fannaca gave up a sack near the end of the game yes, but overall this season, he his having another, not pro bowl, but all pro season! and you said it yourself, mangold is a great player
We have some great players but so does every team in the NFL. I will ask you so what. This team of great players choked like a bunch of punks down the stretch last year and after a nice 3 and 0 start have regressed and found a way to lose 4 out of 5. Granted we did take a loss to one very good team.
I refuse to believe a Defense like ours is one player above theirs. They give up 25 points a game. We allowed A touchdown against them. Their vaunted wildcat was shut down time and again based on adjustments from the previous game. Our Offense put up essentially the same amount of points each game. Meanwhile their defense did not make the same adjustment. They won both games and there is no disputing it. We bettered them in 2/3 of that game and were beaten by the 1/3 of their team we usually dominate.
In game one we got a TD on an outright BS pass interference call and they still drove the field on our elite D and scored a TD. In this game their O wasn't on the field the entire second half essentially because they scored 3 TD's on D and specials which means they didn't get the ball back. The one critical time they did get the ball back, our rested D allowed them to march down the field and get a TD. I don't care what the sport is, there are ebb and flows to games and teams very often looke unbeatable at times until they are comfortable and that's also true of the opposition. We scored when we were behind, they scored on O when they needed to. Fact is in the first half when we weren't turning the ball over or giving up special team plays they stayed with us drive for drive and went in at halftime tied up. That tells me based throwing all the BS out on our field in an outright must game for both teams we weren't able to put any distance between us without the mistakes.
To bad they also had a 67 yard 8 minute TD drive on our elite D that started at the end of the 3rd quarter and ate up almost half the 4th quarter.
If you calculate drive for drive we ended up punting equally, yes. The Jets had more yards and possessed the ball longer in the first half. The Jets had longer sustained drives in the first half. I don't find this equal, but I do see how you could based on no point production. It boils down to ST play and mistakes. I don't think that makes them a better team. If our D allows one TD a game even at the end of the game I'm okay with that. What I'm not okay with is mistakes and we made too many.
