When one guy has 9 of the first 13 threads on the board and half of them are hard to read it is hard to not bring that up. The fact that he overreacted to it shows that he won't be around here very long.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. I cannot believe how many english teachers there are on this website. Who the hell cares if someone spells a word wrong or uses improper grammer? Certainly we can still understand the point they are trying to make. It's a shame that certain posters can't just stick to the main focus of why we are all on this site to begin with. We all love and have had our hearts broken by the NY Jets. Isn't that enough of a reason to come together and support each other?
I think most people are willing to ignore typos, spelling mistakes and improper grammar. It's just that a big slab words is difficult to read. It requires effort and concentration. The first few posters in this thread were just trying to get that point accross.
I think most people are willing to forgive grammar and spelling if the post is at least intelligible and contains decent points. Sadly, most of Todd's posts fail in both respects. On a side note, I find it disheartening how rampant the easy dismissal of language conventions has become. Who cares about proper English usage!?! Really? I get that we've bastardized it as a society for the sake of ease, but why is it so immediately excusable? Only an "English teacher" should care? I type on a fucking iPhone half the time and can manage. It's really not that difficult.
He wasn't talking to you. He used the quote function, as most people do, to properly address his post. That's another thing that would make your posts easier to read, BTW.
Don is on the money... anytime I see a single blob of run on consciousness streamed into one block of words like that I just hit the back button... it isn't worth my time to try and read through something like that. I never expect anyone on here to post perfect.. most can get their points across well enough, but lack of paragraph breaks makes it tough to read.
People choose to be what they choose to be. If somebody decides to act like a jackass, then thats how they choose to be. Obviously we are going to disagree about things. Otherwise there would be nothing to talk about and we'd all be standing around in a circle jerk.
I do not have a problem with you, ToddisGod. My issue was with ThunderbirdJet who may have been on the sauce or turpentine when he attacked me on Saturday.
I can't stand it, another enabler of the self help generation through feeling good about yourself. “If I feel good about myself, smile, others will feel good about me and I will be A okay. I will make more money, the teams I root for will all be playing for a title, I will be a great lover have all the good things life has to offer. Positive thoughts equal positive results” Enough with this self help sanctimonious BS. The generation that built this country the one before me and twice before you looked in the mirror ever morning saw a worthless POS and went out and built the country because without doing that they would continue to be a worthless POS. Stop feeling good about the losing shit play of this team. Stop feeling good about getting your ass kicked by teams like Buffalo and Miami twice, they suck and by implication losing to them means we suck. No amount of feel good, I'm great, put a smile on your face and things are going to be okay attitude is going to get it done. Recognize the worthless POS most of us are and hope that we all recognize it and will actually do something consciously about it. You can’t get off the matt with attitude you do it through getting off the matt.
your taking it all wrong, I never mention feeling good about a loss, to move forward with such negativity and pessimism is unhealty and unproductive Yes the generations worked hard to change there place in the world, but is what not because they viewed themselves as pieces of shit but rather people who deserved better and were going to do whatever it took to get there.
You posted what I was about to post, if the season is broken down into 4 quarters, they gave it all back in the 2 quarter of the season: 1st quarter 3-1 2nd quarter 1-3 3rd quarter 3-1 4rth quarter 3-1 This is the only way they can put themselves in a position to be in the playoffs, obviously we can't know what other teams will do, however if the Jets want to even smell the playoffs, minimum 6-2 and even then they will need help, but judging by the way this team lost winnable games it brings back Bill Parcells words "you are what your record is". My prediction Jets 8-8
