Though there have not been any posts killing our organization and how this team has been put together. There have been many replies comparing us to the Redskins and other organizations. Though the it has not played out yet I disagree whole heartedly and think Tannenbaum and the rest of the organization have created an identity and system that will work. Over the past 5 years we have targeted players who are the best at there respective position. We have gone against the grain and taken players who rated top at there position rather then take the 5th -6th or 7th rated defensive end etc.... This method has yielded - Mangold, Revis, Harris, Keller and too a degree Sanchez. These are all very good and young players. Additinally our trades and signings of Braylon Edwards, Kris Jenkins, Thomas Jones, Bart Scott, Jim Leanord, Alan Faneca, Damien Woody etc... are for the most part good moves also. I am not sure what we pin this latest 4 game collapse or the end of last years collapse but I don't believe it has to do with how or who we have brought in as far as the players. We have showed repeatedly over the last two years we can stand up and play with anyone in the league and we have the talent to match up also. Perhaps we lack the "balls" to go out and win week in or week out or the mental make up to do so. I however disagree that its the lack of talent or the method that has been used to put this team together.
we don't lack the balls to win every week - just the discipline. the Fans lack the balls everyday. I hate my own fanbase.
jesus worry about football and less about paragraphs and grammer. These posts are written between work and chasing around my two young kids, if they are written quickly and hastily I apologize, the points I am trying to make are certainly clear enough to understand.
agreed Mick, we need to improve our attitude if we want our team too also. As far as why Sundays continue to seem to be the same, who knows. I do truly believe we are in the right direction though.
actually..they're not...and to blame your kids and work for not being able to click the "return" key on your keyboard...is pretty fucking lame. if these posts were clear and concise.....nobody would be complaining about it. I really don't care....but the fact is....in a previous thread you started, you did the same thing...and people asked you politely to "paragraph" your post.....to which you ignored them outright. pathetic.
Ok here you go F**&#ck off. I come on here post good threads, respond to others with respect and people like you have nothing better to do then critique opinions, grammar etc... its easy if I make a post don't open it ok. There are plenty of people who read my posts, appreciate my opinion and don't get caught up in the stupid shit like you have.
ignored them outright, come on. I created another post, if the format is not how you or a couple others would like then tough shi*&(&t just ignore me in the future. I have good valid points and I really don't care if you read them or not.
Well it makes it easier to read when you use paragraphs.. lots of people won't even bother. How hard is it to put a space here and there?
are there not paragraphs in this post. Can know one decipher a paragraph because I chose not to hit the tab key??
Man, you are fighting a losing battle. People on here don't care about you. Or your posts, for that matter. Most of these pricks only want to hear what they think and hear it the way they think it. There would be those who will reply that they don't hear a word on here. They read it etc. The one spot we ALL get to come on and vent our frustrations with the same team we all love and we still get shit for how we say/write things. Unbelievable.
good, I sit on my high horse all day knowing I don't duck and cover and ask for the pulling of my rookie QB at halftime because he doesn't look like Drew Brees. I also won't kill any coach over their decisions 8 weeks into it minus Schotty who is in his 4th year and still wants to get cutesy. i know we lost the top 2 playmakers on both sides of the ball, who were also big leaders, or small ones haha. I just can't sit here and demand perfection. I see other teams going through the same shit, or ones that look much worse. Living in a Jets fishbowl will drown you when there is a whole sea of football to watch and learn from. I also know this is a solid football team, not a great one. A rookie QB will do that to you, even though he has had 6 damn good games and two shitty ones. I just can't be a SOJF. I can only imagine fans of other teams looking over at Jets fan with SOJF behavior and saying "they act like that when they lose? what a flaming homosexual. I'm glad i'm not a Jets fan, I'd hate to act like him. Let's go get something to eat."
On the mark Mick. once we lost big Jenks, and Leon it became pretty obvious our team just doesnt have the playmakers to make the stretch run required to win a super bowl. So our season has now become about developing Sanchez and helping our young offense to mature into a big time game breaking offense for next year, and helping to identify weak spots on our defense so that they can be fixed moving forward. If we over react to everything we act like whackjobs and then other fans look at us at like we are clinically insane. I don't expect the Jets to play perfect football every sunday. I also realize if they don't win a game, there will be positives to take away from a loss. When we win a game, there will also be negatives to take away from a win for us to work on and improve. 4-4 with a rookie Qb and a rookie HC is not bad, considering sane fans expect 9-7 would be a great season before week 1. Heck several of us thought we could easily start 0-4 and would battle back to 3-5 at the bye. We are 4-4 and have been very close to winning 3 of the games we lost. If a ball bounces our way, we win any of those three. Eventually we will learn how to win the tight games. I expect some progress in the second half.
Have other fisrst time coaches come in and not brought there guys. I think it is bit unique that Rex Ryan came to the Jets and of the three main fazes of the team- offense, defense, special teams, the only head coordinator who was not a hold over he brought in was the defensive guy. We all know Rex Ryan is a D guy and I am sure for the most part he installs the defense. I am not sure if I disagree with the decision of Rex Ryan to do this, but I do feel in history its not something that has happened often and he opens himself up to kudos if it all works out and criticism if it does not. Does anyone know of any coaches who got there first job (who were not with the team already) and kept so many holdovers, I would put callaghan in the mix as he is very big part of our offense and a guy who has had his own stint as head coach. I would love to here others opinion on this, or if anyone has any info on past times this has taken place and how it has worked out. As mentioned I am on the fence about whether it will succeed here or not. The Miami game is two games behind me already I am somehow kind of over the loss already (believe they call that being numb from constant heartbreak) feeling good about rest of season as I do believe we have done alot of things very well and have been competitive with everyone we faced, including the best team in football NO.
let me point it out before all the english teaches chime in, sorry for the lack of paragrapsh. Do realize though if you only indent while writing these posts and do not put extra space between what is meant to be separate paragraphs, how it looks when it posts is different then how it is intended to look
