I'm not claiming to be an expert (although I did miss the game yesterday because I was studying for an orthopedics exam, and would like to be an orthopedist one day), BUT I just watched the Leon injury and I will be damned if it isn't a tibia fracture, which is MUCH more severe than fibula. I've watched the play in slow motion, and it appears to be a classic tibia break. This looks very serious.

It's the fibula, everyone is reporting that, even the Jets.

aren't there already a number of threads? anyways if they said he only broke the fibula than that is it.

Maybe the tibia made some weird movement but didn't break because all the pressure went on the fibula (which in fact did break).

    Direct from the jets site-

    http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/articles/show/3357-washington-suffers-broken-fibula

"Leon Washington has been sidelined indefinitely by a broken fibula suffered in the first quarter of the Jets' 38-0 victory at Oakland today.

Washington stayed behind in the Oakland area along with Dr. Ken Montgomery, head of the team's medical department, and was undergoing surgery at an area hospital as the team buses departed for the Oakland airport a little after 8 p.m. ET.

Washington suffered the injury on a 6-yard run 5:41 into the game when tackled by LB Tommy Kelly and other Raiders in a pile near midfield.

"Leon's a great teammate and a great person," said Thomas Jones, who teamed with rookie Shonn Greene to lead the Jets' second Consecutive 300-yard rushing game. "Honestly, from the time he got hurt till the end of the game, every couple of plays I would think about him."

"That's crazy," said S Kerry Rhodes about losing his teammate for the foreseeable future. "I feel for him."

i'm no doc, but i'd think there is a difference between one and both bones breaking. i could be wrong, though... its happens from time to time.

Yeah it's not like there was two separate pieces of Leon on the field.

To the OP, thanks for starting another thread. We needed this, as the information provided by you has not been covered in the other 2 threads related to Leon's injury.

I also think he might've inured his ankle here too, this could be way more serious.

I think he bruised the nail on his big toe, I saw that watching the entire game on super slow-mo.

Keep his big toe in your prayers too!

    That's a Tibia/Fibula injury...

BTW after a year on the sidelines Eduardo cambe back and now plays soccer 100%, and soccer is a lot harsher on legs than football.

look. you aren't a doctor and all you have is watched the tape. i don't care what your reports are saying.

I'm pretty sure the person who operated on him would have been able to diagnose another broken bone. You should be banned for posting fake news

I suppose the fact that I am in the process of applying to orthopedic surgery residency programs gives me absolutely no credibility whatsoever. What is it that you guys do, exactly?

Alright, I'm outta here. Screw you guys.
