Look i'll be the first to admit it, as a STH if you choose to not attend a game for whatever reason i respect that. I for one did not tailgate today cause i just didnt want to sit in the rain and deal with all the stuff that goes behind the tailgating experience.(setup,clean-up etc....) But come on maybe it was just me or maybe it was just my section but todays crowd really really sucked. With the exception for a few around me It seemed as if the crowd just wasnt into it. Of course this offense today didnt give us much to cheer about. It was just a big difference from week 1 to today.

Another thing i noticed was alot of empty seats!!!! Its our 6th game of the year, come on. By halftime my section was pretty much empty!!!! Ive also noticed for the past 4 years going to jet games.. SECTION 338 what is it with that section. It always seems that this section is always half empty???

He's not blaming the fans. He's simply pointing something out that nobody else is talking about. Would you rather see another "Sanchez sucks" thread?

shocker that the crowd wasn't into. fans need a reason to cheer. with the way this team has been playing the past few weeks, there isn't much. The fan base is capable of showing up and impacting a game (i.e., the Pats game)...the team just needs to give them the motivation

Im not blaming the crowd.. Sanchez sucked big balls today. We could have been on our feet for the entire 4hrs and he might have still thrown 5 ints. All im saying is why buy season tickets if your not going to attend the games. Look its Week 6 not Week 14-17 and we're pretty much done. Our first home game of the year the crowd made a big difference in that outcome we WERE LOUD.. Today it just the crowd didnt want to get into it, even on key third down plays.

338 is the visitors section - for family of players and in general, tickets belonging to the opponent, if they aren't all used, they aren't sold. There's your empty.

I was there at 11 am so windy you could not even set up the canopies. Those who watched on TV, Fuck you, but if you stood home you did not miss much, another sucky Jet game.

Being at a football game IS a reason to cheer. This kind of shit is why I go to college games and watch NFL on TV, fans don't know how to rock a stadium in the NFL. Your attitude is completely backwards, youre supposed to be energizing the players, not the other way around.

On another note, watching today's game, I was reminded of an article I read a few weeks ago where Woody Johnson said they considered putting a retractable dome on the new stadium, but decided not to because getting a super bowl or two wouldn't be enough for them to make money on the investment. Honestly, is there a team or a place in the league that needs a dome more than the Jets in the Meadowlands? Sitting at football games in the rain sucks, playing a football game in the rain sucks, and watching football sucks when the fans and the team are both sucking. If Sanchez can't learn to throw into the wind, I'm not sure what this team is going to do.

I think Rex needs to get on the horn to the fans again!

I'd be disappointed to find out the Jets fans can only get it up for the Pats.

Was there, my throat was hurting after the game because I was yelling so much. However, I did notice that the crowd was at best 3/4 full.

Anyway, I got to the stadium around 12:00 and it wasn't even really raining at all. It was windy, but that's about it.

My dad and i noticed the same thing.
I guess you could really call those who didn't attend "fair weather" fans.

I was disappointed in the crowd today as well. I don't want to hear anything about the weather because it wasn't THAT bad. Not really sure why people seemed to leave around halftime, but it was a close game that the Jets needed and people still left. That's pathetic. There were times when the crowd got loud on defense, but in general it was more quiet than usual. Often times on 3rd down, it's so loud that I can't hear myself (and I have a very loud voice), but today it seemed like I was one of the only ones going crazy. Granted the team gave us very little to cheer about, but the fans need to do a better job.

SECTION 338 IS THE VISITING TEAMS FAMILY SECTION. and dont get on the fans about being pathetic or bad. Fans will mirror how their team plays. SHITTY PERFORMANCE= SHITTY FANS. GOOD PERFORMANCE=GOOD CROWD SUPPORT. thats how it should be in my opinion.

The fans, much like the defense, got extremely disheartened by the 4th interception. I left with the game tied 13-13 right after the 4th int. I could see the players had lost the will to win, and I couldn't bear to watch what was evidently coming.

I mean honestly, at that point as a defenseman it's very hard to convince yourself to go out there and stop the other team when your offense just keeps sabotaging your efforts. Rationally speaking, as a player why destroy your body for no reason? Your offense is just turning the ball over and throwing you right back on the field.

If your team isn't even trying how can you possibly cheer?
