You are wrong too... 300 yards and lost.. we lost because of a lot of reason.. rookie QB mistakes.. fukking penalties.. coaching.. injuries... We did a lot of things wrong today, and had some bad luck come our way as well. Had we not lost Jenkins.. I'm not so sure we lose this game. That penalty when Jones broke it down to the five at the end... maybe things turn out different. You can't lay this all on one guy.. shortsighted.
He almost cried in the press conference!!! Did you watch!?! I'm not saying he isn't going to be a great NFL QB, he may be a HOF QB for all I know, but look like he's in over his head right now, much like Elway was his first year.
He failed to deliver the ball to his receivers. He failed to lead his team. Failed to get first downs when we needed them. The play calling was assinine too. Between Schotty and Sanchez it was like the perfect storm. Anybody who agrees with the decision to keep sending this rookie out there when he had lost composure and lost control of the game is a moron. He should have been BENCHED after his 3rd INT. Clemens should have been brought in to run the offense. That offense should have primarily consisted of handing the ball to Leon and TJ and dumping the ball off. Instead we had Schotty calling ridiculous long pass plays that failed repeatedly and put the team in unmanageable conversion situations and contributed to Sanchez's problems. Shitty playcalling coupled with Shitty passing.
Sanchez is our starting QB but he was awful today.. 5 INTS.. he had no confidence in himself. That is the reason why I would put in Clemens for a drive in OT after our first failed drive.
In the case of interceptions, yes very much so. Sanchez has the rookie tendancy of pre-selecting his receiver and locking onto to him, secondaries love and feed off of that. If he was just getting sacked maybe you could blame the coaching staff, if he was being forced to throw the ball away alot then maybe, but when your throwing picks, it's all on the QB. don't get me wrong, I love Sanchez, but put the blame on the picks where it belongs, with the one who threw it.
Ordinarily I'd agree with you that one player never loses a game, but no, you can lay today on one guy. Yeah, penalties were terrible, but the QB was worse. I'm not saying he sucks or anything, or won't be an amazing QB for years to come, but he's lost out there right now.
I don't think he needs benched. I think we need to go back to the safe play calling that we had at the beginning of the season. I don't know why they were letting Sanchez sling it down the field or making him throw it on 3rd and short specially when the running game was doing as well as it was. Anyway I'm done for the night I'm way too pissed off to even begin to try to be logical.
Mark Sanchez is the Number 1 Reason for this loss. He failed to move the offense down the field. Incomplete passes, Interceptions, taking sacks. He is a rookie and it showed. If we don't care about winning games then by all mean let Sanchez go out there and chuck the ball into double coverage multiples times. I thought in the NFL the idea was to try and win the game. If we wanted to win then Ryan needed to bench Sanchez and take over the damned playcalling. Because neither Schotty or Sanchez was getting their respective jobs done today and it cost the Jets the football game. Want some more reasons? What about all those pointless long counts that did nothing except get our own guys offsides. We did that about 4 times today. Trying to trick the bills we fooled ourselves. STUPID. Dumb Offense, poorly executed and no balls by the HC when he should have taken over that game from the inept OC and the rattled rookie.
Ordinarily I would disagree with myself to be honest.. lol He had a horrendous day, and that is a coaching call whether they think he can brush it off and keep going, or if he's had enough for one day. I think we can fairly question the coaching staff's judgement after pick 3 or 4. Either way though, despite the INTs this team was in a position to win it a couple of times and they choked. This whole team choked today in my opinion, partly due to the loss of Jenks on defense.. I think the jury is still out for Sanchez. A guy with so little experience you have to give time, but you also have to take care of him physically and mentally. I'm not sure if they did the latter today. We have seen some very good things from him and we have seen some awful stuff. All we can do is hope he grows and learns from it.
how could anyone equate this loss with the coaching staff. we played our hearts out and came up short. This may be the turning point for Sanchez. we left it all out on the field and lost ; its as simple as that. if Sanchez struggles against the raiders then ill start to worry.
Hehe.. you do realize if he struggles against the Raiders we'll have to start saying things like "if Sanchez struggles against <North Carolina State> this week I'll start to worry".
From my perspective, the one guy that contributed the most to the loss wasn't Mark Sanchez. Even with the 5 INTs, he completed a big pass at the end of the 4th and were in obvious FG range. The holding call when they got to the 15 yard line killed them.
I also find it hard to be pissed at Sanchez when the coaching staff kept sending him out there... it's like they wanted him to break a record number of INTs in one game or something.
Benching Sanchez is not the answer IMO. Have to let him play out the season and earn his lumps unless he's hurt. But he did nearly single-handedly cost us a W today.
Sanchez should not be benched. That is a ridiculous thing to say. He's the starter this entire season without question, and that is exactly the way it should be.
Don't be a douche sour!!!! We should have all been prepared for this . Sanchez is a rookie and we all anticipated these growing pains. Its the missed Buffalo field goal that has you riled up. It happens and with the jets its a likely scenario!
lol It was the first team that popped in my head after WVU and Marshall.. lol No offense meant.. I don't follow college ball or I would have thrown in a clunker team.
