I'd love to hear you sit here and tell me that our defensive playmakers are in any way shape or form the same level as their counterparts on the ravens. Kerry Rhodes compared to Ed Reed is like comparing Kellen Clemens to Tom Brady. Bart Scott was the THIRD BEST LB on that team, and now he's our number 1. David Harris is a solid LBer, but Ray Lewis is one of the all time greats, and Suggs is an elite player. Those guys create TURNOVERS. With the exception of Jenkins-Ngata (which I'd say is a slight favor to Jenkins) and Revis, we have inferior players all over the field compared to what Rex had with the Ravens. There is your difference.
OK I am as pissed off as anyone else who is a Jets fan. I watched flipper run that stupid pussycat crap all night long. The Jets just couldn't stop it. BUT if you ask me if the the Jets defense is elite. I will say fuck yes! The Jets are my team and no matter what the score, what their record is. When the Jets were 1 - 15 they had the best F%$KING D in the NFL. Why? Because they are our JETS! The JETS ARE THE BEST TEAM OF ALL TIME. I don't care what anybody says. I love the Jets! They are 3-2 that is not a bad record at all. Things will be different when flipper has to walk into our house 3 weeks from now. They beat us but o' well you can't win them all. I really think our D is going to be fine. We have a great D still... We stopped the number 1 offense in the league last week so dont get so down. Trust me I am sick to my stomach after this loss too.... But until we face a REAL offense Im not going to change my opinion on this defense. There is no way in hell that Miami comes to our house and wins again! NO WAY... They just got lucky tonight... Next time we'll be prepared for that pussy offense they run!
i'm pissed because the defense had a lousy fucktastic shittingly horrible game. But. this is the same defense that stuffed the saints, who were on pace to break the nfl single season scoring record, and the same defense that put in 3 very great/solid performances before that, and it's still the same defense that had given up 3 offensive touchdowns before the start of last night's game. don't be so quick to discredit our defense.
I thought the D should have played up closer to the line every time the Dolphs were in the Wildcat. Play any receivers 1 on 1. I wouldn't be afraid of a pass in those situations. Even run blitz in those situations. It will be interesting to see what RR does differently when we play them in 3 weeks.
Our defense had match up problems like most teams MIA will play against. I'm concerned about our next opponent if we're vulnerable like this again GOSH!!!!!!!!!
Ya know, when Ryan said this was the worse defensive performance he's ever seen I immediately thought about the Giants thrashing of Baltimore last year. G-men beat them up, down and sideways and ran for over 200 yards rushing and won 30-10. This performance was not as bad as that, but it was pretty damn close. We got outplayed last night, it happens. They need to learn from it and come back to make a statement this weekend.
A little comeuppance may be good for the defense in the long run (maybe they didn't want to touch those horrible orange jerseys).
I think we need to take a step back and calm down a bit here. We held a prolific Saints offense to really only 10 points. Did we struggle against the Wildcat? Sure. But the Pats got raped by that same shit last year, and they are still regarded as a good defense. Eventually, everyone is going to catch up to this crap, and the Fins will be left holding their sack in their hands not knowing WTF to do.

The Saints offense (which is WAY BETTER) only put up 10 points on us(preety goddamn good). Playing on the road, with a fired up team (dolphins,saints) is preety tough in the NFL, we see the dolphins again, and you best beleive that COLLEGE WILDCAT BULLSHIT of an offense wont do shit for them. There a decent team, you think they'll ever get to a superbowl with a faggity college gimmick offense? NAH, suprise some people, yeah but thats about it.

was the first thing I noticed, that and Polite is lucky he didnt break his neck blocking with his head down like that. to the original poster, the defense can be elite. the 4 great games to 1 bad game I watched doesnt lie. i think people are shitting bricks cause its the phins. not like I enjoy it, especially after talking about our defense at work all week. we were outcoached on defense and outplayed with the exception of Jenkins . now if i watch the bills and raiders put up a sizeable chunk of points on us, then i will agree the defense overachieved.
