As a Michigan fan I said I wanted Henne and Long in the draft, people said I was crazy. 1 game does not a Marino make but the Kid can throw the ball. I could still be wrong but I'm gonna stick to my gunz. Hats off to the Fins, we were out played and even more OUTCOACHED. We tried to beat them with our front 7 and it failed. Bart Scott was GARBAGE tonight. Pace was a total non factor. Ghost was.....Ghost. Revis, Rhodes, Lowery & Coleman ALL GOT BEAT at one time or another!!!!! It was a total breakdown!
All the opposing QBs sucked against the Jets stifling pressure. Except for....Chad Henne? Tha fuck? Henne played composed (not difficult with no pressure whatsoever), and we were OWNED by the wildcat. This "Super Bowl caliber" defense looked like pigshit. Back to the drawing board, Rex.
Great post, agree to every single word. Gotta give them some credit. The phins gave the colts everything they could handle, and lost because the colts have pretty much the best qb to play the game in recent memory. The patriots have yet to play those guys. They seem to be for real
I will eat some crow too. That was insane. Different result in 3 weeks..... Here is one thing though: 1. We played pretty bad. 2. They played as great as they possibly could. 3. It was in Miami 4. We only lost by 4.
Rex just said it best. We made Henne look like Dan Marino. We played terrible D and the wildcat ate us apart.
That's bit harsh, isn't it? I don't deel we were out coached at all. Henne made some incredibly great throws where there was only one place to go and put lasers right where they had to be. You have to give credit where credit was due. Henne looked way better than Brady has so far this year. It was just a hard faught well played game by both teams. It came down to one play with 10 ticks on the clock. We stop em' and we get OT. Well, we didn't stop em' admittedly our d was probably a bit gassed by then. They gave it all they had. As for the Wildcat; it helps a lot when you have 2 very good running backs in the backfield for that formation. Parcells got Williams off the blunts. Have to give that some credit, too.
That's my point. REX's Strategy to avoid the blitz and create pressure with the front 7 failed. That's Coaching. Also, On the final drive when we actually did bltz, Sporano had the pocket move away from the Blitz to give Henne more time and deliver the strike. That's the Chess match of coaching and REX lost. I love REX and what He brings but lets not forget, I'm a realist and It's what I see.
I think the Bills get a major ass whoopin' next week and then I think the Raiders get an even bigger ass whoopin'. Rex is gonna make the D good and pissed this upcoming week. Clowney has finally arrived in my mind. We have to get him more time on the field.
I can't believe this Wildcat bullshit continues to work. Holy fucking shit, Rex better bring something nuts in 2 weeks.
The game and some of those last plays were reduced to a game of inches. I can't say the fins were lucky, but they just made the play they had to have when they needed it the most and it had to be perfect with zero margin for error. I can't get mad or disappointed at that. And, when you get right down to it what we saw tonight out of the fins - there are many, many very good football teams who don't deliver in those pressured circumstances.
this just proves how irrational this board can get. Believe me im upset right now, feeling sick to my stomach, but lets keep our heads were still a good team.
I think he will invent a new defense called the Poon Fang. It swallows you up and then bites hard and you done.
