Whilst I'm rapped at the Edwards trade, we have to get Washington's deal done now. The guy plays lights out every game and is a genuine threat every down. I feel a bit like a spoilt kid with everything thats happening to us right now, But Leon is just such a huge part of this team, it worries me that this deal hasn't been done.
I actually think Washington's the one whose going to hold out because the best argument he can make for an increased salary is to outperform Jones over the course of this season.
i have one positive outlook. when TJ is let loose, and everyone knows its going to happen - LW gets his money and Greene becomes the 1b RB. TJ is worth over 6 mil next year - cut him and it goes to Leon. Win-Win, except for TJ.
to be honest, Leon hasn't exactly played like a 6 mil a year man... he has been pretty lackluster by comparison to his usual performance...
I agree... the one good thing about other teams stacking the box and our OL not playing as great as expected is that LW isn't proving he's worth the 6 mill he wants... I hope he signs for around 5 and that settles it.
Agreed. If Greene can stay on the feild in the second half of this season TJ is as good as done for the Jets.
Agreed. As of right now, he isn;t worth more than the current offer. How his stock rises once defenses are kept more honest remains to be seen, but I expect that it will.
As feared by some Jets fns when Leon?s reps went up, his production went down. The Jets have his rights for two years as a RFA. He should take the fair money offered before he gets hurt
I think he's as good as done either way. TJ isn't worth anything close to 6 mil. I like Jones but there are plenty of players that need to get paid on this team and he isn't one of them.
i like how that kid explodes through a running lane and has two hands on the ball until he's in space. Its pretty to watch. too bad it was only 4 times. My eyes got big on his longest run because of how seamless the handoff to the cutback and the explosion was.
