Before the draft Cleveland wanted a 1st and Kiuwanuka from the Giants. Six months later, the Jets get him for Stuckey, Trusnick, a 3rd and 5th. Not bad.
Does this mean we're looking at another small draft class? Isn't our 2nd going to Phili for Lito Sheppard? Now 3rd and 5th to Clevland. So we'll have a 1, 4, 6 & 7? I like the trade, but man, to have a good team in the future we should be getting some young talent. We could use some youth on the D-line, and a few young prospects on the O-line as well.
I think it was already established with Lito's injury we won't have to give up a 2nd, so maybe it will be a fourth, or we can convince Philly to take the 6 and 7 instead considering how well we are pulling off these lopsided deals recently.
The pick for Lito is most likely going to be a 4th based on playing time. And we added young talent. Edwards.
Someone mentioned earlier that the Lito thing won't reach a 2nd because he hasn't met the playing time for this year by virtue of missing some games. The 5th was given last year. It's more realistic that we have a 1 and 2, who knows how things play out after that since there's a 3rd involved here but you don't know what year, looks like we have a 4th (which is really a 1st round pick for the Jets), possibly no 5th but a 6th and 7th....
The Pick for Lito will most likely be a 5th. We gave up our 7th for O'Connell. It's probably going to be a 1st, 2nd, and 4th round pick. (maybe 6th too)
Maybe we can get some picks back for sending away Thomas Jones. With his contract disputes and lack of production thus far, I doubt he's going to be sticking around next year.
Whatever dude. We got a starting wide receiver and a starting CB for a 3rd, 5th, and probably a 4th (Lito). Not bad at all. We got two starters for the three draft picks. What more do u expect? Lito is a little old, but Edwards is only 26, 2 yrs older than DK. Some Lito trade info: http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2009/3/2/776976/surprising-details-about-l
There's no way he gets a 10 million option bonus....... maybe CB needs to be a draft target next season along with linemen.
This sounds like the trade deal we made with the Saints for Vilma. He's already missed the chance to hit the 85% plateau so we're safe. As for the extension, I doubt Tannenbaum would have been crazy enough to give him that either way and risk losing the 2nd. If we keep Lito after this year I'd expect him to get cut and then resigned. The terms for the deal might be similar but I doubt he would have been expecting to get that $10million bonus from the start. This seems like the most likely scenario. This should leave us with a 1st, 2nd/3rd, 4th, and 6th with the 2nd/3rd depending on Edwards' catches. So that's 4 picks in this draft with Thomas Jones being possible trade bait.
Or that. DE, NT, or RT would be my guess. Unless Edwards completely disappoints I doubt we use a high pick on a receiver now. You don't trade away 2 players and 2 picks to rent a guy for a year.
Check out this post by a Browns fan from there message board... "Dude, I wanted Chancy for BE straight up. We actually jobbed NY. They were desperate and we got WAAAY more than BE was worth. It's not because of the punch alone. BE is gone after this year and we traded him before his stock dropped any more. I was pulling for him but I've seen enough. All he is anymore is a name. He just doesn't get it. PS. I think it's clear now who called the shots when it came to personel in NY. Mangini just ripped off the GM who many people here think did all the work. I'm going on record right now that I love that Mangenius!!"
