Where is the highlight video of him leading the league in drops? This is a player who seriously needs to get his head in the game. All the physical talent in the world will not overcome a poor work ethic.
Good coaching is also a key. Have the Browns had that since Edwards has been there? Yes he's had only 1 good year but on such a crappy team that also had 1 good year.
Randy Moss is one of the Most gifted receivers to ever play the Game. Edwards has the skill to be very good, but has only put together one all pro type season. I hope to hell he does it, but I have some doubts.
Players love to play for Rex. Im sure Rex is better than Mangina and Romeo? Rex will get it out of him. Players admit themselves that Rex gets the players ready for the game and pumped up. Drops? I got two letters for you. TO Work ethic? I got two words for you. Randy Moss
...If edwards can produce like those guys? Fine. He has only once in his career. He is far from a proven commodity. He has no where near the physical skills of Moss or the off feild work ethic of TO. He is as bad at drops as TO and as Lazy as moss. That is a horrible combination. I hope to hell Rex can turn him around. I would love nothing more than for him to become a big time player for the Jets. Be he has to prove it before I get too happy.
He is a proven WR. 3000+ receiving yards, 196 receptions, and 25 TDs in last three years. Did u see his QBs? Besides, he had no one else on the other side either. The one good Anderson did have, Edwards wreaked havoc. I'll be honest, this wasn't the best move Jets could make, but if u think about it, Edwards is ONLY 26 years old. His entire prime is yet to come and he has at least 5 years of primetime football to come. I liked Stuckey, but he had a few bad drops as well. I also liked Trusnik, but role player. a third rounder and 5th rounder isn't bad for a pro bowler. Im sure Edwards will get back to his normal self. Just don't expect him to have a 70+ catches, 1000 yards season this year.
If anything it's got to be a boost of confidence for him, seeing what we gave up for him, and the fact that he's leaving Cleveland, coming to New York City, and playing on a winning football team. I have high expectations for him...Braylon don't let us down.
Don't get me wrong, I like his talent, but he wants to be paid like a big time receiver now, yet he has only done it once. I don't expect great numbers from him this year. He needs to learn the offense and we still have a rookie at QB who has chemisty with Cotch already. What Edwards breings to the table as of right now is a very good threat to the defense. Leave him singled up on the outside and you could be in trouble on a deep route. Also, he is a very good red zone target. Lots of height and skill. Its just a matter of will he learn the playbook and get away from his mental lapses.
Hey, he's playing for a team that he knows actually wants him on the roster. That should improve his attitude a lot.
I like the trade. Edwards will definitely help the team. He's quick, athletic and physical. I truly believe he will recapture the 2007 season. Let's not judge him to harshly on one bad year - a few TD's is all it takes to have a short memory
