    TJ is gone next year

His cap savings if cut is $5.9M and he ill be a 32 yr old RB. He's a sure goner in 2010. That's why we need to use Greene more. I'm ok with bringing him along slowly and increasing his workload as the season progresses.

TJ is too much of a tippy toe runner for my taste. He goes down way too often on arm tackles when a power runner would keep bursting through the hole. Reggie Bush is like that. Man if I was a Saints fan he would drive me crazy.

If handled correctly, next year we cut TJ, pay Leon, and have Greene start. And we simply draft a mid rounds RB to become the #3 back.

You do know, do you not, that Thomas Jones was the starting running back for the AFC in the pro bowl last year and that he led the AFC w/1300 + yds.? I wish we have more "tippy toe" running backs who could come close to that.

Maybe he should tell the guys that are tackling him that and they will treat him nicely. Last year's stats don't mean squat.

For a guy that led the league last year he had he had an unremarkable season. Never loved him but I'm glad he's on our team. Great runner, no way but solid and durable goes a long way.

i like tj but he seems to lose his footing so easily this year. it seems like if he did a little more hurldling and manuevering he could pick up some more yards. it seems like the bottom of his feet have weights or magnets to the ground or something...
and brad smith needs to fucking catch the ball.

Give him 20+ carries for the next two games and I bet you will see something from last year.. He's a grinder.

Yes! He isn't a creative runner, accelerates too slow, and rarely gets yards after contact! I never understood the love he got. I know RBs need their OL to play well for them, but Jones' inability to create space and lanes essentially means that he can only play as well as the OL is playing. He's good at staying healthy, besides that I think he's solid. He's not great and he's certainly not worth another contract. Greene and Leon for the future should be good, aside from them the Jets should either draft an RB or see if Oakland will trade one of theirs away.

    Um?

Leon...for a shifty/agile back...HITS THE LINE. Greene, HITS THE LINE...Even if nothing is there, as yes it happens...Why dance? Just dive forward and use your "strength"

Leon fights for yards...Jones just dances around.

I just think it's so funny how Greene gets in there and starts making a spark... Jones gets all scared he's gonna lose his starting job and THEN starts to run hard. Maybe we should start Greene every game and then have a PISSED OFF Thomas Jones come in and start ripping shit!!! LOL

Honestly I love the Jets but TJ has NO moves! We need a little agility. I mean he is good when he WANTS to be.. This guy needs to start playing angry! Until then I think Greene is just what we need right now.. I know the Dolphins are looking good after pounding the Bills but fuck it... Give the kid a shot and see what he's made of next week. It cant hurt right? And PLEASE lets get Leon some more touches! I wanna see Leon be a Jet for life!!
