No doubt, we beat 3 really good teams in the first 3 weeks...But our Jets have had these victories before, only to fall flat against aweful teams later on.

The 1st quarter of the season is done and we exceeded expectations by going 3-1. This team feels they are elite. So far they have played elite.

Now in the 2nd quarter of the season they have to destroy the opponents. I dont mean by posting big scores, but controlling the time of possession, running the ball effectively, and no freaking turnovers.

    These next 4 :
    @ Miami
    vs. Buffalo
    @ Oakland
    vs. Miami

Will truly tell us if these Jets are for real and as Rex Ryan said elite.
Must go 7-1 if we are to hope for those big dreams.

So if we have one turnover we aren't an elite team?

it should be 4 wins. We are all going to think that.

But 5-2 is very good as well. The problem is that the next 4 teams are division rivals and one hated rivalry across the country.

we will demand 4 wins in a row, expect it, and anything less will have the whole board going apeshit.

this is a tough task to keep us happy.

I want 7-1 too because i can't stomach a loss to two shitty division rivals and a cunty embarrassing Oakland team.

Agreed, we need to win the next 4.

With Atlanta, Indy, New England, and Cinci later in the year, we need to go in to that stretch 7-1.

If there is one loss i must take from these 4 games, it would be against the Bills. I dont want to lose any games to those dolphins or especially those "surreal-life" raiders. Cant believe we lost that game last year...

I say 3-1 but we could pull off a 4-0 if we dont get caught in a trap game and i think that game will be the raiders for some reason...

It's these types of games that did us in last year. We "should have won" our last 5 games last year. Look where that got us.

I tend to agree with this. In the NFL its hard to look at any 4 game run and say "we should ein every one of these games", but I feel we can. The Bills and Raiders are a mess. If we can't get the running game going against the raiders then we never will.

The Phins are not as bad as 1-3 makes them seem. They did go 11-5 last year and win the division. If we lose one it better be against them and not the other two stinkers coming up.

That said, I fully expect to be 7-1 in another month and will be a little disapointed if we are not.

All we have to do is beat Miami a week from tonight. It amazes me that folks get so fixated w/looking so far down the road even though its clearly and repeatedly been shown to be a losing approach.

Nothing matters except beating Miami next week.

Because we are not the ones playing the games, we have the freedom to look down the road. I'm not break down film or learning a new game plan, thats the players job.

If the players do what we do then thats stupid. As fans its nto a big deal for us to talk about december now because its not affecting preping for the upcomming game.

I agree with this. I've seen too many Jets teams play down to the level of their competition as well as up to it. We should wipe the floor with this part of our schedule.

McFadden is going to be out for the game vs the jets so I can't see anypossible way of us losing. Unless we have another rookie episode

We shouldn't have lost to them last year...but we did.

2- 2. I see us splitting with Miami -- no way we take both. We'll find a way to lose to either Buffalo or Oakland, but not both.

As for these 4 games our defense will keep us in every game, however I foresee this forum asking for the resignation of our OC. I hope not, but I think you guy's will see this offensive scheme is not working for us.

I'm having doubts about our ability to beat Miami on Monday. One game at a time . . .

Good teams beat the teams they are suppose to beat. As much as it pains me to say it, that is what NE did in its prime.

We should beat Miami. Maybe the game is closer then it should be if the second string QB has a good game and they have some success with the Wildcat, but I do think we will walk off the field with a win. That's all that matters.

If we can get to 6-2 before the bye I'll be more than satisfied. After the bye I see us going 5-3. In my mind 11-5 wins the division. But right now I just want to wipe the floor with the dolphins

I think we will completely dominate the Dolphins offense, our offense just has to do what it did the first the games.

Manage the game and like the OP said control the clock and the ball.

Rex Ryan's Ravens defense killed the Dolphins and their Wild Cat last year. I have complete faith that same will be true this Monday.
