I agree, this year our options at WR were has-beens, guys in trouble with the law or league, or trading for a guy at a very high price. There was really nothing good out there. That being said, this team is relying on a WR corps that has just one above average receiver on it. Cotch is basically a good number #2, which is okay, but we don't even have another #2 on the opposite side of him. Stuckey's a #3, and everyone else would a # 5 elsewhere. I hope this unit can improve during the season, but when the fans were saying the Jets need another receiver they were right. Stuckey and Clowney have not proved us wrong like they said they would during training camps.
I think Cotch is a valid number one, he is 5th in the league with yards, but he does need to see the endzone more. As the season and time goes on Stuckey and Sanchez will improve their timing and at least make him more of a potential threat. We need more creative ways to get Keller involved in the offense. Like others have posted, Clowney could be a legit threat for spreading the field, but he obviously needs to be in the game to do that. Does he not practice well or something? I know Rex didn't like the twiiter comment, but come on.

Teams always have to make calls about whether or not to make moves. I certainly don't go so far as to say they should have pulled the trigger on this or that move, partly because we as fans don't really know what the negotiations, even if there really are negotiations, consist of. But I do think it clear at this point that those here who said the Jets would be fine at wideout were being over optimistic. The Jets could still have a great season, but that would be despite the wideouts, not because of them. What I don't pretend to know is whether the team really made a strong effort to upgrade or felt that they had enough talent already on the squad to be acceptable.
