THe way he was talking, it sounded like he thought he should have been there for the Super Bowl runs.
I found this that was posted a few days ago http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/3577/lombardi-jets-no-strangers-to-tampering
I don't want to even hear this BS. Curtis is huge hero of mine. I will not believe that he would trade his production on this team for that chowder chewing franchise.
lets get real...if he could exchange production for superbowl rings he would do it in a heartbeat...and i can't blame him...just sucks to hear him say it out loud.
Martin is the man .. Whatever he said was probably taken out of context. He always beat up on the Pats. The Pats fucked up for letting him go. Curtis is 100% Green.
Taking off my green colored glasses to respond to your post, how can they have fucked up when they won three Super Bowls while he was still in the league playing for another team. That makes no sense.
I saw that earlier. It sounded more like he was saying he was determined make the Pats regret letting him go (by playing as well as he did). Then again it sort of caught me off guard so I might not have interpreted it correctly.
At the time Tannenbaum concocted a now illegal "poison pill" clause in the offer he signed with the Jets. The Pats really had no choice but to let him go. Whatever it was, it made it crazy for them to match the deal. It wasn't straight-up. They hated seeing him go to join Parcells with us. It wasn't that long ago. Doesn't anyone remember? Wait - I guess it was 12 years ago.
I doubt C Martin said or will ever say he wasn't proud to be a NYJ. Him saying he wishes he won the Super Bowl is completely understandible.
