I've talked to a lot of Saints fans and I've browsed some Saints boards. I haven't found a single person who isnt confident that the Saints are going to win. http://www.saintsreport.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125240 http://www.saintsreport.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125328 I just found it interesting. Saints -7 is way too much.... EDIT: on the second link, look at Merl's sig....
they're confident... they should be, they beat the living crap out of every team they've played so far. but I have a feeling they wont be so confident after harris lays out brees on the first play of game.
I like how they all think it's a big smoke screen so there's an excuse if the Jets lose. Yup, the Jets are going to go without players this week so the media isn't too hard on them if they lose. meh.
Since the Saints fans on here told us Saintsreport is a terrible place to visit - fuck them. and the -7 is right where it should be. Enough with thinking its too low.
Since they played against Trent Edwards, Kevin Kolb (in his first start) and Matt Stafford (in his first start).
The range of fans on all boards vary. Saintsreport typically has 500+ fans on the board at any given time. So take each opinion with a grain of salt. The ones that say it is bad are usually the ones that have been banned. You also have to realize a lot of posts over there have a lot of sarcasm in them. Problem is, if you haven't read what that person has posted before, you're not going to know... since it's impossible to see emotion on a message board. Anyway, the confidence a fan has in their team usually is based on who they have at QB. That's a dull argument. I'm sure Jets fans didn't think much of a backup QB making his first start when they knocked Bledsoe out of the game. You should have seen how happy Saints fans were when they finally released Jason David. The DLine is good, they have Vilma at LB (the best #51 there since Sam Mills), and a solid secondary. Have even an average defense with that offense and you can see why there should be a ton of confidence.
It's as dull an argument as 'you have to beat us with a 4 man rush or you will leave receivers open'. The Jets may beat the Saints with a 4 man rush. The Saints just won't know which 4 men are rushing.
It's funny how every time I go to visit an opponent forum to see what they have to say, I leave with a new found hate for that opponent. Simply put, every fan base thinks too black/white (NYJ included) and the Saints are no exception. I hope we derail them like we did @TEN last season. Just a total buzzkill in their barn, that's what road wins are all about. I want that stadium ridiculously quiet.
