Considering he started 77 games and played in 88, if he played in 16 game seasons and never played in the post season that's only a little more that 4 and half seasons. That stat is a little mis-leading when you consider some of the greats played 15+ Seasons.
lol, exactly. Let's wait until he retires. Knowing how hard he works, I could definately see him making it back again.
He WAS a good QB, when he was healthy. The problem was that he couldn't stay healthy. He gets dogged on here because he wasn't able to do what we wanted him to, which is stay healthy enough to lead us to a SB. However, he was solid for us from an objective perspective. Just not enough of a gamechanger to get us where we wanted to go.
You are correct...Chad deserves a thread, obviously everyone loves to talk about him. Here are 182 more opinions: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=48922
Something misleading when he's on a list with Bart Starr, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, John Elway, and Steve Young.
That's the ONLY list he's on with those other QBs. That's the difference. He's considered one of the most accurate, not one of the best.
I thank Chad for all he did here. He is a real class act. One of my favorite Jets of all time. Hopefully this isnt the end of the road for him.
I got the utmost respect for Chad, I think he has more heart that the majority of some of the teams out there combined. But I'm not under any delusion that he was greater than he was.
I always had a soft spot for Chad. He was one of my favorite jets. I even found myself rooting for him in last yrs playoff game. Anyway chad was always a class act and if he played his last game then i wish him the best in his next career. Maybe one day he can come back as a coach. Good Luck Chad.
When Chad was here he gave us all he had every week, and we had some memoral playoff runs with Chad. We can't say that about many New York Jets QBs
Penningtons a warrior i wouldnt count him out just yet, I honestly cant. He was one of our best QB's despite not being able to take us to that next level but really only 1 QB was ever able to do that so it is what it is.
He was never that same QB after that Oakland playoff game. That was an amazing year and the Raiders blitzed the hell out of him and the rest is history.
Chad only had two complete NFL seasons and one was last year for the shitty Dolpohins. I liked when we drafted him, but his slow start and repeated injuries soon made me discouraged. The only thing he has left is possibly a career in NFl radio or TV broadcasting. I feel sorry for the guy but I am happy we won't play him ever again.
Regardless of what he did/did not do on the field for the Jets Chad IMO was one of the classiest players to ever don a Jets jersey. I wish him well in his recovery and in whatever his future holds for him.
One the best jets in recent memory. He always gave it all every year, even when he was hurt. He was the unquestioned leader of the team for several years. Class act, and one of the smartest players the NFL has seen in a while. Got nothing but respect for the man. He didn't deserve to go out this way.
