True. It's funny that he was bashing him earlier for the water bottle fine amount. Granted I didn't know this before I read it but you would think the all knowing Fatcessa would know that $1701 was not just some arbitrary number Mangini made up.
It's weird because even though he is a big Yankee fan he still knows the Mets and can talk to you about each player. You might not agree with him but you know he knows who they are. I sometimes feel that he has no clue who a lot of the players are that play for the Jets. As for Cotchery I agree. I think he would tell you that Smith and Manningham are far better players then Cotchery is. And that really isnt a fair comment at this point.
Agreed 100% but its annoying. This guy thinks he knows all the secrets to the world and he doesn't. He goes week by week just like anyone else. By no means was this thread created to bring the Giants into it haha, some how it just happened.
Can we not even bring up Fatcessa, why even start the thread, nothing against the thread starter, but why even talk about Mike?
I stopped listening to him a couple years ago when he went on a rant saying the Jets don't have 1 player talented enough to start for the Patriots. He also claimed that Ben Watson was "far more talented" than any player on the Jets roster. It is just silliness.
Francesa does have a point. We really did get lucky a few times, and our offense couldn't seal the deal towards the end. Relying on our defense to close out games isn't going to work forever, so we need to work on better run blocking. Don't forget that Francesa gave the Jets serious props for handling the Texans and the Patriots, so let's not act like the guy has it out for the Jets.
I didn't think it was created to be about the Giants, but I couldn't pass up the chance to talk about the team I know best.
He never explicitly said that. What he said was that, at that point in the game, the Titans had all the momentum and total control of the game (which frankly, they did). So, to him, that play turned the game in the Jets favor for good (which it did). Also, Francesa mentioned collins missing his last 13 passes more than once already. Finally, Francesa is obviously a self-important (SO MUCH SO), arrogant prick who says a lot of absurd things on a regular basis. My only point is, it's not necessary to make a new thread everytime someone in the media says something not entirely positive about the Jets.
I'm a MET JET and ISLANDER fan.... So I try not to listen to him Baseball season (especially now) is hard b/c of the Yanks clinching, suprised he is talking football at all. But definitely no love for the JETS, I've taken to listening to ESPN on the way home now.
Just by looking at him I can see he's a huge chicken parm fan, he roots hard for lasagna, and bleeds marinara sauce.
Ah ha ha. So he asks Antonio Pierce straight up ' So what do you think about the Jets talking before the games at three an 0 whle the Giants go out there and win quietly getting the job done.' Antonio simply said 'they are 3 and 0 and their coach is that way and as long as they keep winning there's nothing wrong with it. They back it all up. If they start losing and the talking continues then there's a problem.' The phone rang at my job so I didn't hear Mike right after but everyone I know thinks the Jets are playing really solid football right now. Even Giants players. Radio guys will even admit that they drum up controversy for attention in the ratings. I would be very worried if he starts kissing the Jets a$$. At least he's consistent. We know whats happening. Beside Joe comes on after him and even things up.
Francessa is a closet Dolphins fan...or wherever Parcells goes. He's so far up Parcell's butt, you can actually see him when Parcells laughs.
Haha yeah. He said it exposed the Jets' holes, such as the running game, the fact that we have to blitz to get pressure, and that Sanchez "can't keep doing that [referring to going head-first and reaching the ball over the goal line, because he got lucky, and if he keeps doing that, he'll get injured and/or turn it over]." He acts like Sanchez is a veteran making rookie mistakes. I'm sure Sanchez will be taught this week not to go head-first as much (or dip his head so low), and they'll work on protecting the ball in the pocket better. He's a 22-year-old rookie and Francessa is demanding perfection from him in his 3rd game. So far, the Jets' record is perfect, but that's not good enough. That's what bothers me. Lastly, being worried about the 'exposed weaknesses' is something a pessimist would say. Looking at it another way, you can say that the Jets now know what they need to hone-in on to make themselves a more complete team. But no, we should worry!
