I think his perceived harshness is just that; a matter of perception. He's trying to get people riled up. He praises the Giants because he knows Giants' fans right now are looking for something to be worried about. He's playing his fan base, that's all.
lol so true eli manning was a god to francesa even when he was average without a SB. Sanchez is 3-0 and playing very well and all he talks about is his awful ball security and the INT's dropped. he is just upset he was telling everyone to calm down about sanchez because he was going to be awful early on. when franny is wrong he gets defensive and talks out of his ass. He also loves Jay Cutler. He's already a folk hero he says.

Both you and the guy you're quoting are wrong. Francessa once said Eli is the new Brad Johnson, he just won't win a Super Bowl. That doesn't even make sense as Eli has a stronger arm. I might have missed it..but I doubt it. I never heard him say that. If you are a true analyst of the NFL and you didn't see prime let down combined with a very solid team that was extremely desperate..then its intentionally being left out...which Mike does all the time. The sad thing is that not one Jet fan called him on it. I have YES paused right now and will check out the rest of the first hour..so maybe someone did bring it up. I totally agree with your post.
I actually used to like him and dog in the early days. As the years went by, I liked him less and less. Now, I actually get an ill feeling in my stomach when I listen in. He has always (except when Parcells was couch) bashed the Jets. Unfortunately I live in the western part of central Jersey, so I lose ESPN at around Somerville, so if I want to hear NY sports during the afternoon, I have to listen to WFAN. The only other sports station in my area is WYSP in Philly which sucks big time.
Am I the only one who thinks this is another classic example of fans overreacting to media members not kissing their team's ass?? I listened to him and I didn't think he was doing much "bashing" at all.
I saw that game. Im gonna try to be unbiased though. I think the Cowboys dominated Giants. Cowboys were unlucky that night. The Romo/Witten turnover was plain unlucky. The Manningham catch in end zone was luck. Cowboys had the better running game. At the end of the game, final score is what matters. Besides, you need to have some luck every now and then anyways. Giants are playing pretty good regardless.
I usually listen to WFAN most of the time but i've been starting to listen more and more to 1050 ESPN radio especially when it comes to the Jets. Francesa seems like he would rather bash the Jets then praise them. He pumps up the Giants all show long and never treats the Jets the same when they deserve it. He was saying all last year how the Giants have 1 maybe 2 CB's better then Revis. He praises Pierce to no end and thinks Scott is overrated. Listen to him talk about the Giants WR's. Cotchery is having a better year then all of them but I dont think I have ever heard the man mention Jerricho Cotchery's name. Boss is great but no love for Keller. The only Jets he talks about are like Sanchez and Jenkins. Listen to Boomer and Carton, Joe and Evan, and or 1050 when you wanna talk Jets.
Why does anyone even listen to that douche? I'm a Yankees fan, and I like the Giants, and I won't give him 30 seconds in my ear. Hell, his show is on right before the Yankees pregame shows on YES, and if I turn on the tv a bit early, I hit the MUTE button. By listening to him, you empower him to continue.
