then why was he unwanted? he went home because nobody wanted him.....in a league where they take convicted felons as long as you can play, they said "see ya" to keyshawn.
Back on the topic I wouldn't want Crabtree because he may suffer the same consequences that Mike Williams did for missing a year, though I do feel he's a better WR than Williams ever was. Next years draft is deep at WR including 3 franchise WRs. They are definitely going to want a 1st plus this crazy asshole wants a top 5 contract even though he wasn't picked in the top 5 lol. Too many question marks about him in terms of health, attitude, and desire to be a top notch football player in the NFL where everyone is talented but dedication and desire to be the best is what separates the elite from the pack. The right thing for him to do IMO was to take the contract slotted for the tenth pick and PROVE to everyone you deserve a bigger contract.
On February 5, 2008, CBS4 Miami reported that Bill Parcells reached out to Johnson. Parcells reportedly told him if he was to come out of retirement there would be a spot on the Miami Dolphins roster for him. -Wikipedia checkmate? lol. I'm joking but seriously he was an excellent WR for a longtime.
i'd rather draft O and D lineman. We're thin at those positions. but why even bother talking about the draft when we're on the 3rd game of the season and we're 2-0.
NO thanks...I think missing this year will screw this guys career. He hasn't played a single game in the NFL and is already labeled a pain in the ass. No need for the headache. I agree with a previous poster who suggested drafting an O or D lineman. Let him sit a year then Jerry Jones can pay through the ass for him in 2010.
Man, it's too bad I didn't get to answer you before someone else did. This post owns your soul MisterBouncyBounce. Absolutely. But I've been a loud voice on this board that my primary want is a #1 WR. I just don't see a point to talking about a player we will never even have a chance to bring aboard. Do me a favor, try watching football with your eyes open. It's a completely different experience.
are you honestly going to say he lived up to being worth #1 in the draft? you're telling me you didn't expect keyshawn to be a game changer, a game breaker instead of the possession receiver he turned out to be? point to stats all you want, i can do that for chrebet just the same.........keyshawn was great? a number 1 pick over all and he isn't even the best receiver on the team much less "great". he was a decent to good receiver who had some moments......hardly hall of fame or even close. yeah ok................i hope you guys work your way into the new england front office someday.
just because teams didn't think he could play at that level any longer, or didn't want to pay him as much as he felt he deserved, doesn't change what he accomplished prior to that. that's just asinine and you should be embarrassed by such ridiculous logic. by that logic, Marvin Harrison was only average as well because no teams are knocking on his door this season. heck, whenever any player gets old and teams don't think they can produce comparatively to what they will cost, that must mean they were only average, because by your own logic any player that was ever great would have to always be wanted by a team regardless of whether their skills have diminished.
no, they never said he was average, they said they no longer wanted him. that doesn't reflect anything on his past performances. try to keep up. I guess by the 49ers getting rid of Jerry Rice he was just an average receiver because they didn't want him anymore. Breet Favre was only an average QB because Green Bay didn't want him. that is the logic, or lack there of, you are using. don't try to project that onto Parcell's or Gruden when that wasn't their position at all. this is very simply stuff, I'm not sure why you are having such difficulty with it.
i think were okay with the guys we have now. clowney and stuckey will only get better..... the ravens made it to the afc championship with their average wrs and a monster defense. so can we.
You've got to be kidding me about wasting a #1 Pick on Keyshawn, I mean I know a #1 pick is a #1 pick, but holy crap, whine about Gholston before you try to take down Keyshawn.
Say what you want about his receiver skills, but we spent the #1 overall pick on the guy, got a lot out of him, and then traded him 4 years later to the Bucs for 2 1st round draft picks. He was worth it to me in that sense, even though he turned out to have the personality of a chihuahua.
