http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/jeff_pearlman/09/21/jets/index.html?eref=T1 Several reasons why... 1.) Does the entire football world hate the Jets? Why are we as fans not allowed to feel good for one second? 2.) If this guys friend actually called him yesterday and said "The Jets are going to the Superbowl" he's a douche. I was at the game yesterday and while everyone was riding high after the W no one and I mean no one ever mentioned the Superbowl. No real Jets fan would. 3.) We had to listen to all this crap after the Texans win. It wasnt that we played great. The Texans played like shit and arent as good as everyone thought. This week we will hear the same from all these assholes. We beat a NE team who had injuries, Brady is still getting his act together, Randy Moss has a bunion so that prevented him from beating Revis to the ball..etc. I've already read two articles today predicting the let down this weekend and the L to Tenn. And one more side note. What fucking Jets fan said Sanchez was going to the hall of fame? No one?!? Then why do all these talking head douche bags feel they need to constantly mention that we as Jets fans already have him going to the HOF? Maybe I take this shit too serious and need to shut off the talking heads and just tune in to see the ass kickings on Sunday.
who cares? hes probably a pats fan: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/jeff_pearlman/07/31/ortiz/index.html
This guys career is probably already in the shitter, so he needed to post something against the grain so someone would read his worthless crap
anngold22@gmail.com That's his email address... let's just keep it in this thread until we got to the SB and then write him about it...
Pearlman is normally a very very good writer and a NY native, so maybe this is his anti-jinx article? I'm fairly certain he's an Mets/Jets fan, or at least was as a kid before having to shed his favoritism a bit when turning pro writer.
Dude, as a Steeler fan my entire life I have learned to turn off the mediots, ESPN, NFL Network, and all power rankings. It all means nothing. What matters is your last team is the last one standing in January. Be proud, enjoy your team and don't worry about what these so called experts think. Didn't all of them say the Patriots are back and everyone else will be fighting for second before the season starts. How is that working out for them? Trust me it will drive you crazy if you let it.
What kind of Jets fan, after watching this franchise for the past 5, 10, 20 or 40 years, thinks that we are a lock for the SB?
Well said...these guys get paid to run their mouth. I love what we have here and what these "analyst" say doesnt change my perception of this team one bit. BTW, these people are just startin to notice that Revis might be one of the best corners in the league....most of us realized that awhile ago!
I'm 41 so I've seen a lot when it comes to the Jets, all I know right now is we're a lock for no worse than a 2-14 record...
how about this Peter King article: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/09/20/mmqb/5.html he lists Revis as an MVP candidate.
I actually got a text from my buddy that said, "Jets are going to the Super Bowl." My buddy is really knowledgable about sports, eps. football. When he said that I assumed it meant, much like the writer's friend, to mean that they were excited about the win, and overexaggerated a little bit. Not a real belief that the Jets are going to win the Superbowl, after just two games.
