Hahahaha...I hate Scott Wright Samardzija was a hell of a football player too, but he felt he could make more money and have a longer, safer career playing major league baseball. I hope Eric Decker continues to play football because he's a beast.
Hey Mr E.......whats your take on Ryan Mathews? That was F...in unbelievable performance. I know Boise was up in the game, but still quite impressive. I've seen alot of RBs game highlights and that one ranks right up there!!!
Ryan Mathews is the real deal - big, fast, and strong. If he stays healthy the entire season, he'll put up huge numbers. The only knock I have on him is that he can't stay healthy - it's never anything serious, but minor injuries always seem to keep him out a few games. Mathews is definitely a fun guy to watch - he breaks at least one huge run in every game. As a senior in high school, Mathews led the nation in rushing as a direct snap quarterback - I think he had over 3,000 yards rushing in one season.
I knew he was injuryed last year, I even heard somewhere Mathews was considering switching to play Safety or CB this year...glad that didn't happen.
No, that wasn't Ryan Mathews. He's the best offensive player on the Bulldogs. Pat Hill thought about converting Lonyae Miller to safety because the team lacks depth there. Anthony Harding, who led the Dogs in rushing last season, is playing both sides this season - linebacker and fullback.
Minnesota/Cal game is today's best game. Minnesota is playing way above their heads. The Crowd and Decker are leading the way. It's nice to see Minnesota have a homefield advantage.
My mistake. I must have confused the two players. I thought I read somewhere Mathews was frustrated by getting injuryed all the time...he considered moving to DB.....my bad!!
Minnesota's new stadium is great. The nation's top recruit, Seantrel Henderson, has Minnesota ranked in his top three teams - if he commits to the Golden Gophers, Tim Brewster's program will take a HUGE step forward. New stadium + a coach that's good at talking = top recruiting class Watch out for the Gophers in the future.
Something strange about their new stadium. Security is checking B.A.C. of students under 21 entering the stadium....Crazy!!! There were a shit load of complaints about the new facility last home game....concessions, lines to get in, logistics with parking. Kinks have to be worked out, but it's a beautiful stadium. Surprised it only holds 50K.
