This whole Rhodes thing was taken completely out of context. What is wrong with a player being confident in his team? It's like people want Rhodes to say, " I want to win by a field goal." Who on the Jets doesn't want to embarrass the Patriots! The Patriots have been the most dominant team in the division for the last 10 years almost! The whole thing just doesn't make sense to me. It's not a big deal that Rhodes wants to embarrass the Patriots. Everyone person on NE wants to do the same thing to the Jets, the difference is that some reporter didn't come out and ask them that question.
Don my man, the Giants were losing the game, it took a miracle for the Giants to win. I think we are forgetting that while it may be a good game on Sunday, there is no defense that Tom Brady has not won against. I think we will be able to control the ball and that's how we will win.
Um... The Super Bowl you're referencing was played in 2002, but it's considered the 2001 season championship. I love it when "fans" don't understand how the NFL works. Nice shootin', Plax.
I hope that's not the case I'm pretty happy with what Rex Ryan has done so far. If he turns out to be to much of a players coach and doesn't create an environment that is both fun and desciplined, he probably won't last very long. Players coaches coming in after a desciplinarian usually do okay for awhile just like having a desciplinarian come in after a players coach. At the end of the day it's a sound approach to football and getting everyone to buy into it that has staying power.
I may be a diehard Steeler fan but I am surrounded by Jet fans. I was born and raised in Ronkonkoma, NY. My dad, my brother, my uncles, my cousins, my friends are all Jet fans. I'm the odd ball of the group. I personally want to see the Jets get over the hump and what better way to do it then to beat the Patriots. For me to come on here and disrespect the Jets would mean I am disrespecting the people close to me.
My latest tweet: TheBlairThomasFumble: Rodney Harrison is not really an honest guy, i saw him cheat by taking HGH. i want to see what kind of game he brings these days, because when it counted, he avoided making a hard hit on the one of the biggest plays in SB history and lost his team the game and made all of our Pats* trolls very sad! GFY Harrison.
I think you have lost the whole point of this argument. It was that the Giants shut the NE offense down and they did. They scored 14 points..not 40.
I love how Rodney harrison has taken a side and attempted to report on the game as a media member what an ass hole...dirtiest player in the game
Why I hate Mike Florio http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/article/2009-09-18/10-pack-big-time-players-feeling-heat-week "And in this corner ..." With Rex Ryan finally becoming a head coach after the powers-that-be in New York concluded that he won't act like his father, Buddy, Rex hasn't been acting like his father. He has been even worse. The ongoing stream of rah-rah chatter has given the NFL a pro-wrestling feel, with Ryan calling out other coaches and other players. So should it surprise anyone that, already, one of Ryan's players has poked a stick in the eyes of a gradually awakening monster from New England by promising to "embarrass" the Patriots? Coaches set the tone for their players. So if the head coach is going to be a little reckless with his words, then players will follow suit. While it's all entertaining when the Jets are 1-0 and feeling good, once the going gets tough, it might be time for the fists to get flying. And, it'll be entertaining then, too. But not for Jets fans.
How do you take "we want to embarrass them" "Brady is gonna get hit at least 6 times" "We want bodies around his knees" out of context? He said what he said, and he and the Jets will get a chance to back it up Sunday. I'm pretty stoked to see it!
Florio is a douche. He has nothing to say about the Monday night game where the NFL was celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the original 8 teams. The teams are wearing the throwbacks, Dick Jauron is wearing a nice throwback Bills shirt along with his staff and then their is Belicheat wearing his customary cut off tough guy hoodie. He looks like he just woke up from underneath a highway underpass. Way to represent the NFL and it's history Bill. For one night you couldn't dress the part and actually look like you care about the company that pays your salary. Who by the way also affords you the luxury of cheating on your wife. Let the NFL straighten out Bill before going after Rex.
He was the only Pats D-Back attempting to break up the play! Samuel was 5 feet away watching, instead of hitting.
