I don't think that was the case. I myself would like to know more about him. Combines aren't everything but they do count for something
The problem is that you give your OPINION as if it is fact JET fans like you have been oh so wrong for decades about players so what's 1 more right. THis guy has incredible time for his size and I have watched him play tons I never saw him alligator arm a pass over the middle. There play calling didn't ask him to be a dink and dunk receiver he was asked to be the deep threat. Good Grief...................
You asked what MrE got his opinion of DHB and I replyed by watching him play. Remember your the one who needed to call out someone in this thread not me. I'm jsut the bored jackass that took the time to respond to you. I tend to agree with him the Bay is soft and not a full package as a receiver. I prefer a guy like Nicks who can run the crossing routes and still have success. Bay has great timed speed, but that is not everyting. Its not that I think DHB will be completly ineffective in the NFL, but I do not like him at #17 in the first round.
For most teams I think the interview process at the combines count alot more then the numbers anyone puts up in any drill. They are looking for weaknesses and someone being unprepaired, not for over amazing numbers. A guy like Andre Smith can cost him self a ton of money with what he did at a combine. 90% of the guys are not going to effect thier draft grade too much unless they bomb in the drills or thier interviews.
Heyward-Bey's stats from Monday night's game - 0 catches for 0 yards and 0 touchdowns. 3 drops and another negated by a penalty. Dude's gonna be a beast...er...I mean bust.
DHB doesn't catch passes! He just needs to draw off a safety to open up the run game... ...oh, I guess you have to catch passes to do that.
if you have a big leg(janikowski), big arm(Russel), blazing speed(heyward bey) then al davis will draft u in the 1st round. i think al davis thinks this is video games where those attributes are most valuable.
Joe can you do us all a favor? Can you stop talking up DHB completely and just talk about Louis Murphy? Because that would be a better use of your time....
So one game doesn't break a career for DHB, but it surely did for Gholston, right? very perceptive...
He's fairly right here. DHB might never be an elite WR in the league, but don't forget that he's got arguably the worst QB in the NFL throwing him balls, he was going up against a legitimately tough San Diego defense, and he was a rookie playing in his first NFL game. By the end of the season, maybe we'll be ready to write him off as a bust, but not yet. Was he drafted FAR too high? Oh yeah. Is Al Davis a fucking idiot? You betcha. Were there at least 4 or 5 WR in this draft who would've been a better selection than DHB at 7? Of course. But that doesn't make him a bust after 1 catchless game.
