We all know the Williams line avoided suspension because the courts in Minnesota let them off. Now we hear that Goodell has decided not enforce to the suspension Grant and Smith in New Orleans. All of them are guilty of the same thing Pace is guilty of, PEDs. It seems to me they ought to be letting Pace back until this all gets straightened out.
The Vikings and Saints players are playing because they claim the NFL should have notified them that a masking agent was present in the product they used (Starcaps). No one is arguing wether they used a masking agent (because they did) but if it's their fault or not. Pace was probably caught using a substance which players know they cannot use. This is way he can't play... because he cannot accuse the NFL of not notifying the players about that specific product he used. Sorry but my english is not good today, I hope I expressed myself as clearly as possible
Yes. The Williamses were suspended for using Star Caps which are a dietary supplement used to promote weight loss. However, Star Caps have been used in the past to mask steroid use as they dilute the presence illegal substances. That said, Star Caps, were not a banned substance at the time... Pace used a banned substance.
To be clear, Pace used a dietary supplement that could be used to mask steroids. What you're saying is that Star Caps were not banned at the time they tested positive for them?
Yeah, the Williamses were my firm's clients when they sued the NFL, so I was privy to a bunch of cool stuff...There was another key detail I am forgetting though...
I posted something similar about Jessie Chatman, last year. He got screwed because the NFL decided to punish him for a substance they knew players were using for years. Then last year they just decided players shouldn't be using the substance and they used Chatman as an example to get the rest to stop...
Really, the question is what did Grant and Smith use as it is their suspensions that Goodell and not the courts chose to vacate.
Yeah that is the question... Unfortunately, you know the drill, they sort of bunch all of these substances into the "Performance Enhancing" category and leave it at that.
I mean, who knows, if Pace is in a similar circumstance, the Jets most certainly are appealing the suspension as we speak. I guarantee that. I am pretty sure, though, Pace used a known banned substance...
So did the Williams, Grant and Smith. The NFL clearly says they did and that is why they were suspended. The courts let the Williams off. Goodell and ONLY Goodell let Grant and Smith off. Once he did that everybody currently suspenged for PEDs should have been let off too.
