Kris Jenkins + undersized Center = BAD IDEA

 

I loved the way they covered the guards with the DE's to force a one on one with Jenkins. Why couldn't mangenius think of that?

i love how steve slaton looks over, probably thought, "fuck that, Sorry Matt, i'm not protecting you from that" and then gave Jenkins a shitty shove in the back.

 

The one thing I wasn't all that amazed with was the funky blitz where they sent Harris and Scott up the middle and delay-blitzed Jenkins between them. He wasn't half as fast as he needed to be to make that work. It surprised the Texans the first time they used it and was completely ineffective the second time. I like the ingenuity it shows on the part of Rex and Pettine, though.

 

Slaton almost looks like he's pretending not to see the giant 77 mauling into the backfield.

 

i felt bad for Schaub having a man like Jenkins run at him full speed.

its almost inhumane... which actually makes it awesome... so maybe i don't feel bad at all.

 

i agree with this 110%. he really creates opportunities for the linebackers and ends more than anything. the success of harris and scott is directly linked to the success of jenkins. keeping him fresh and healthy needs to be one of the top priorities of the team staff.

 

I actually liked that blitz. I wonder if they do that next week against Brady except with Jenkins at DE and Ellis rushing from Jenkins' spot.

 

Thats was by far my favorite part of the game! When he blitzed from the ILB position and came right through and nailed Shaub. (I was waiting for a flag btw). When they showed the close up replay and you could see Jenkins eyes...holy shit...I got scared! He looked like he hadnt eaten in a week and Schaub was a 6ft tall roast beef sandwhich...

 

I liked the blitz, just didn't like Jenkins on the delay. He's fast for a big man but not that fast.

 

I see Brady checking to a middle screen if he sees that movement going on presnap. Hopefully Rex has an ace up his sleeve for that.

 

I can't believe people actually thought Alan Faneca would have more of an impact on our team than big Jinx. This man IS our D. Too bad the Hampton rumors weren't true, or we would have had the best D in the league. We looked amazing yesterday. Can't wait to see how it all works with the Big Kat and Voyeur back.

 

Where did this Voyeur nickname come from?

If yesterday was a real indication of how this D will play all season, it's going to be absolutely disgusting with "Voyeur" back.

Honestly, my favorite moment was the head slap, ala Deacon Jones. For some reason, I'd been under the impression they couldn't do that anymore, since I never really see anyone do it. Is that the case? Either way, it gave me chills when he did that! Awesome!
