(wonder if Gholston--come saturday night with OSU (Ghost) vs. USC (QB-Matt) at "The Horseshoe/Columbus,OH"--will suddenly get some "kill QB!" NFL vibe infused into his blood come SUNDAY) That said, come Sunday, the obvious: 1st order of the day: protect the USC kid. Kill Schaub (esp. "OSU-Vernon" in the wake of Pace...you ready to 'fly' at the QB Ghost?). Harris: please be yourself and stay healthy--Scott: please kill Schaub.....minus any "unsportsman-like-conduct" penalties that might end up keeping a Houston drive intact... Jet "Offensive Line:"...push Thomas Jones..and the Iowa kid.....forward...consistantly strong....& that includes drive-blockin' Mr. Ferguson?...git' it "Mr. Athletic? #60?"...help PUSH THE PILE!!... OL: and please ... allow... Leon to "dart" ... thru a 'gap' into the secondary...speaking of: the OL-Fanaca et al is going to have to be the unit that (if successful) controls the "clock/game" ...i.e. the offensive line needs to turn a 2nd-and-8-into-a-3rd-and-5-ish manageable call for the USC kid: Feeley: 'nail' whatever <45 yd. shot you're presented with. Punter: do your job (if it calls for directional kicking)....(very "green" ... need to est. field posititon where possible)...winning "ugly" 17-14. I'm nervous. Frankly, I'm not sure (given the Brett Farve bullshit) that Rex has too many pieces of crap to deal with that our "D" can keep the home team under the ropes. Meaning: I think we may need "week-5" to kick our Rex Ryan "D" act into gear. That said, I will, come Sunday (with best wishes to all you other "Jet-retards") come forth and silently watch my suddenly TV-CHALLENGED screen with 'upper-deck' ...J-E-T-S!....etc.!...etc!...etc!...chants ringin' in my ears. God bless our beloved Jets.
Hmmmm..A soft defensive team vs. the AFC's leading rusher from last year... A new defensive scheme predicated on pressure vs. a team that needs to throw the ball? Sounds alot like the Carolina game last year in terms of reverse hype.
If we are going by Madden results, Andre Johnson had 1 catch for 18 yards against Revis when I played earlier this week.
Thought it interesting that one of the fantasty f-ball experts picked Schaub as a "start em" option. http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyfootball/story/12180519 Matt Schaub (vs. NYJ): Schaub is looking to pick up where last season ended when he passed for 1,281 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions in the final four games. On top of that, he finished the season strong at home with 1,538 passing yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions in his final five games at Reliant Stadium. The Jets are without two of their better pass rushers in Calvin Pace and Shaun Ellis, who are suspended for this week. That won't help a pass defense that was among the worst in the NFL last year. Look for Schaub to have plenty of time throwing the ball to Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels, Kevin Walter and Steve Slaton.
golic picks the jets to win on the website but today on the radio show picked the Texans to win including covering the spread.
We saw a handful of times in preseason the same type of blitzes we've seen from Baltimore where guys come untouched to the QB. I expect to see more of that tomorrow from the Jets. It won't matter who's rushing because no one will be blocking them.
average? What are you smoking? He missed all of camp, came in and started immediately... for a holdout that's pretty damn good.
Hello ya'll. I'm a diehard Texans fan. You guys are up there in New York, so you don't see much of us. Tomorrow, ya'll gonna see why Andre Johnson is THE best receiver in the NFL. Randy Moss isn't a decent barometer, because he only runs ONE route! You run Randy on a go route, he's a Hall of Famer. You see him taking many quick slants, running all out on clearout routes, and blocking downfield? No. Andre does all that AND does it well. He makes our other receivers into borderline probowlers. When you guys realize you can't stack eight-in-the-box against us, you'll discover that Revis AINT Nnamdi Asomoghua. Get NFL GameRewind, and watch Texans vs. Titans late in the season. Andre put up 200+ yards on Cortland Finnegan, with Albert Haynesworth destroying our O-line. You'll see that he dominates on EVERY route, not just the Go Route. Well, enough of that. Ya'll still thinking we're the David Carr era Texans, and a huge disappointment is coming your way. Signup for NFL Gamerewind and watch who we are, then you'll see that our defense is MUCH faster than it was last year, with our inept Defensive Coordinator now working in Carolina. Our new D-Coordinator was a linebacker with the Jerry Glanville Oilers, and has been in the NFL for over 25 years. The Texans just do not lose at home. Especially when everyone is healthy. We've made our stadium one of the loudest in the league, even when our team SUCKED. This season, when the Era of Suckiness ends, the NFL world will stop and take notice. ...end rant.
I agree Andre Johnson is one of the best if not the best but let's not act like the Texans are some juggernaut. You guys are favored being at home and rightfully so(especially w/ us having a rookie QB and 2 defensive starters out) but I have been hearing for a few years now how you guys are supposed to be a playoff team and we haven't seen it yet so I really wouldn't be talking trash if I were you. Isn't this the same city that when you lost the Oilers you had about 15 people protesting the move? Now we are supposed to believe Houston has great NFL fans? Good luck tomorrow and may the better team win. It very well may be you guys but there's no need to come in here on the attack. Win or lose we'll all wake up Monday morning and go to work, school or do whatever it is each of us does. Just for fun: we are 3-0 all time against the Texans w/ an average score of 25-11. here;s to history repeating itself Sunday:beer:
