it might be ok for when you're batting, but when you're on the bases have the bat boy run you out a normal helmet.

In a small consolation, Beltran played for the Cyclones yesterday. He says he wants to play for the Mets again this year, even if it's the last game of the year.

That's an anti-consolation. No reason to force himself back at anything less than 100% to play in meaningless games.

Honestly, from what he seemed to be saying, he's feeling good enough to play, so it looks like he's healing up well. I hear you though, if he's not 100%, it's stupid to risk further injury just to get back this year.

Reyes is having surgery, but is expected to be ready for next season. I'd really like the Mets to get healthy for all of next year. Stop letting those shitbags from Philly into the playoffs.

Reyes is done. He'll never be the same player.

Well, you have to expect that he won't be as fast, but you have to hope he's still a great baseball player. Talent can degrade, but usually it doesn't outright disappear. Plus, you can't just assume he won't be able to come back 100%. Have some hope.

Yeah, too early to say. I'm kind of fascinated by the prospects of the 2010 Mets...They were so awful this year, yet if they really shore up their pitching staff they could be good. Somehow, they could have both terribly low and extremely high expectations.

let's not jump to any illogical conclusions. nothing that's been said about the injury so far seems to insinuate that it's an injury that'll degrade his abilities or his speed.

Isn't the surgery a result of a hamstring tear he suffered recently while rehabbing?

Can somebody confirm to me that Mets fired everybody except Omar and Manuel.... I'll give Manuel a pass but Miniya absolutely needed to be fired for the disgrace that was the Mets this year.

No, they kept just about everybody and are keeping the same medical staff. This team has quit on the fans. I quit on them. Fucking shit. This sucks.
