Damn so Sanchez was on the phone with the Seahawks the day before the draft, and they said that if he was there at 4 they'd take him...

Good thing they backed out. :D

I was really surprised they didn't. I figured he was very likely to go to StL at 2 or Seattle at 4. We'll find out this year if they missed the boat on a franchise QB. I'm guessing yes.

You can't really blame the Seahawks for taking Curry, though. He is a really safe pick.

Just think, if the Chiefs take Curry then the Seahawks take Sanchez...and we probably pick Freeman.

Well I think we definitely do not trade up to 5 in that situation. It would have been hard to give up the second rounder and Ratliff without getting a QB on the pick. There was a time when I thought it was possible that Freeman could go that high but he was in decline by draft weekend. No way the Jets trade up to take him on the 5.

He wouldn't have sold PSL's at all.

No we don't trade up, but he'd be available at 17, right?

I can't remember when the Bucs picked him

Freeman will never be an successful NFL starting QB. I was praying our FO wouldn't pick this kid.

When we grabs Sanchez I was jumping with joy.

That 'safe pick' crap is why there needs to be a rookie weight scale. Teams should be more concerned with finding a player that they need to compliment their current team, not a player that won't embarrass them by being a 'reach' or a 'bust'.

Honestly the other people who shouldnt be complaining about a rookie pay scale is the potentail top 15 pick players for the next 3 years. Everybody else wants the rookie scale. What elite NFL player wants top pick making more money in his first contract then they are making in what is likely to be their most rich deal of their careers?

Stafford is making what 41 gauranteed? what did Eli just get 44? I mean its ludicrous really. Jake Long walked into the NFL and was paid more than any OL in the history of the league. This crap has to stop. Should the top guys get paid? Sure but the max deal should be about 3-5 million a year for the top pick. not 3 mil in year 1 and 15 mil by year 5. its just flat out stupid.

  15. Sanchez is the safer pick and maybe the surer bet to be a star..but dont discount Freeman's physical skills and intelligence. His lack of overall big wins in college was due to the personell around him...quite similar to Jay cutler. Oh yeah..people on here said the same thing about him. Enough said.

Cutler has proven to be a NFL caliber starting QB. So yes he has proven somthing. Jsut because the defense on the Dener team was one of the worst in football dos not mean thier problems were all his fault.
