Hey folks. It's that time of year again. The time when there are an influx of threads about how to get tickets, where to get tickets, how much is too much to pay for tickets, how can I get 3 tickets instead of 2 or 4 and so on and so on . . .

Well, have no worry cuz your old pal Namath2Kolber is here to let you on how to get Jets tickets for cheap and in the quantity you need.

First off, NEVER use Stubhub. It's always the most expensive.

Now here's the way to really get a deal. Pick a game you want to go to and show up without tickets. Then buy tickets off people walking into the stadium. It's simplier than you think. There are two ways to do this. One is the old standard, which is to walk around and find people holding up tickets or saying "Tickets, who needs tickets?" Go up to them and low ball them - this ain't Wallmart - never pay what the guy is saying and never pay face. Or you can just stand by one of the entrances to the stadium and hold up as many fingers as you need tickets - someone will be offering you the exact number you need within minutes.

The other way usually gets you a better deal, which is to walk around and find a group of young people in a crew and ask them if they have any extras.

You would be shocked at the number of tickets that just go to waste because people bail on the game or can't find someone to go with. There are always deals to be had.

Well, yes, that's easy but what about finding 3 seats next to each other? Don't worry about it. Just get 3 tickets - period - and worry about where the seats are later. Another dirty little secret - no one gives a crap if the seat you are sitting in matches the ticket. You may have to sneak around an usher for a good seat but, for the upper decks, no one gives a crap. If you are sitting in someone's legitimate seat, they will ask you nicely to leave and that's that and you go find a new seat.

Now if you simply MUST have tickets in hand going into the game because you're coming in from out of town or whatever and you can't take the risk then just buy tickets on Craigslist. There are no extra fees and people are generally nice about meeting you and giving you a deal. Still, make sure you low ball people - never pay the asking price and never pay more than face. You can usually get less than face even for a big game.

It may seem illogical. Most games sell out, after all. But you forget who is buying all these tickets. Scalpers and corporations. Therefore, there are MANY seats that are not spoken for right up until kickoff (and often well beyond that).

I'll be checking in here to answer what I'm sure will be many questions.

StubHub has good deals from time to time. I sat 13 rows off the field last year vs. the Rams for $48 bucks with all the charges.

and then I paid $100 to go to the Broncos game, and sat behind the plexi-glass in the 1st row of the 300's, which you couldn't see through in the rain. So, yeah.

It does work...so long as the Jets continue to suck. Believe me, there have been games when I couldn't give tickets away for free! And I've got lowers at GS!

Look, I hate those scumbags who mark up their tickets by 100% on StubHub just as much as the next football fan, but is it unfair for the honest ticket holder to try to recoup his money by selling tickets for face value when someone bails on him or something comes up?

All this does is undercut honest Jets fans out of being able to sell their tickets for a fair price.

for everyone's info jets tickets just went onsale at ticketmaster the other day.....just out of curiosity i searched for two best available seats to the season finale vs. cinci and was given the option of purchasing seats on the 40 yard line lower level...i think it was section 139. just informing the people that great seats can be purchased by the casual non season ticket holder.

Also good to check the official jets ticket exchange. Typically cheaper than stubhub, especially when you need parking passes.

e-bay is a great way to get cheap tix too. Ignore the buy it now and keep bidding on auctions till you win one. I got seats for 99cents two years ago when we sucked. I suppose there is a chance I would have gotten free tickets at the stadium...

Stubhub looks tempting, but with fees and shipping it is never better than the other options. The only exception was I had a coupon once, but they rarely have those anymore.

We live in America, dude. The only fair price is what the market dictates. If there are more sellers of tickets than buyers (as is almost always the case), then people are going to have to suck it up and sell their tickets for less than face. If they don't like it, they shouldn't have bought the tickets in the first place.

If there are still seats available, that's all the more reason to buy directly from someone at the game because that means that supply exceeds demand. Gets around those unbearable Ticketmaster fees.

But, obviously, it's better to buy the tickets directly from the source than to buy off StubHub or Ebay.

Rule of thumb - if you can get a deal on EBay then, as you suspect, you can get a better deal at the stadium.

So, how do you get into the stadium to buy these tickets to begin with? Can you still just buy parking on the day of a game? Don't you need tickets to get on one of those buses that cart people from the remote parking lots to the stadium?

When you buy a ticket in the parking lot, you are participating in an illegal transaction. It's an underground market, and the prices therein should not be confused with fair market value.

Obviously you have never been a season ticket holder on the other side of the coin. Again, all you are doing is fucking the average fan.

99% of people marking up Jets tickets on Stubhub are not making a profit. I have 4 season tickets to the Jets. I was forced to pay $440 for worthless preseason games and a ticketmaster service charge to get my season tickets. Nobody wants my last two games of the year, Christmas and the January game. I only am left with six games of any value and of those six only the Pats, Dolphins seem to be selling at a good amount over face. I love people who go if you have extra tickets I "can help you out" by buying your Pats or Dolphins tickets at face. Went to one guy you can have my row one lower level Pat tickets at face if you buy one preseason game at face, guy went no way so I sold my Pat tickets on Stubhub to help make up for the $440 I am eating on pre-season. What is wrong with that. The Jets are not the Giants. Many a fan can't make it to all eight games. The worst part is I am a big Jet fan and every year I am forced to sell the best game to help make up for the preseason bloodbath I take.

Look, I hate those scumbags who mark up their tickets by 100% on StubHub just as much as the next football fan, but is it unfair for the honest ticket holder to try to recoup his money by selling tickets for face value when someone bails on him or something comes up?

BTW better off buying ticket by Jets Bus in Port or Jets train in Penn. Just ask around. It is legal to buy tickets there. The Giants don't allow ticket sales in parking lot and why go all the way there without a ticket.

You don't buy the tickets inside the stadium - you buy them outside the stadium. In the parking lots, by the entrances, . . .

I don't think you have to show your tickets to hop on the tram but I've never taken it so I can't say for sure.
