No see that's where you're wrong....blocking will break down on some plays. That's when you need a guy that can move and throw on the move. Should he have taken the sack?
I know what play you're talking about. I commented on it in the game thread. He put that pass on a fucking dime between two defenders. Perfectly located. Cotch needs to catch that.
Sanchez knows he stares down receivers... he was talking about it to one of the reporters on the sidelines how he needs to work on that. I still think he's playing a bit nervous but damn does he throw a good pass.
Unbelievable poise under that kind of pressure from a rookie QB. We have seen the future and his name is Mark Sanchez!
It's a rookie mistake that we all need to expect. I really liked what I saw after the first quarter. He looked a lot more confident and poised; and one thing seems evident. The kid can make all the throws. I liked what Miamipuck said, I also found that to be encouraging because he put that ball in between two defenders where if anyone was going to catch it; it was going to be the receiver.
Actually that was the missed TD pass in which he threaded the needle. I am talking about the play that Cotch made the catch in the 3rd, with yac the ball got inside the 10. I thought it was a great throw on a slant route........... check it out. But both are great examples of why Sanchez has major league potential.
Why are you guys being so literal? Yes, that exact play is possible in the regular season where Stuckey is that wide open. Did you get that? My point is... how many times have you seen a QB chuck the ball off his back foot or while on the run or under duress and see it get picked? Often. If there is anyone in the vicinity of that ball, it is most likely getting picked. That throw has to have a lot of air under it. Maybe they blew the coverage and that is great!!
So I'm reading the local paper this morning about the game under the headline NEW GUNSLINGER IN TOWN. Near the end of the article is this Rex Ryan quote about Sanchez staring me in the face: HAH, what does that remind you of? I snickered in spite of myself.
To be fair, Favre made a similar play to Stuckey last year. Maybe Stuckey is so elusive that he's capable of making plays like that happen where most in the league can't?
Funny, some of the people here who think your post is dumb have been watching the team for over 20 years, myself at included. You original post was full of crap and you second one was worse. Not watching long enough. Thats right up there with Sanchez will bust because he only played 16 games at the college level. The Giants brought 7 guys. Stucky was WIDE open, sanchez made taht throw on the run while taking a hit, it was a great play. No one is cliaming he's Joe Montana, but your sure quick to write off a very good play against the starters of one of the best defenses in the league who have a great pass rushing front. The only thing unrealistic is how poorly you did in both post and how quuickly you back peddled on it.
game experience is the only thing keeping this kid from being a damn good QB in this league. Guess what he's going to get for the next 3 years? Good things are coming.
You mean a play like this? Oops - sorry that wasn't regular season.
I'm just mocking a retarded post. This thread was about a play in last nights game that happened to be a GREAT play by our rookie QB. That same play would not have been interecpted in the regular season, he was WIDE OPEN and it was great recognition by Sanchez to find him under intense pressure. I'm sure there will be plays throughout the season where Sanchez tries to force a pass that gets picked off. Hopefully if there is a defender nearby he is aware enough to throw the ball away. Last night he didn't need to because he recognized the eight man rush and knew he had a man downfield open. Then his natural skills took over and was able to fire the ball about 30 yards downfield off his back foot with a couple defenders in his face to his wide open receiver for the score. It was a great play in last nights game, nothing more and nothing less. Your post on the subject was ridiculous and deserved ridicule.
Sanchez made a number of plays where he escaped from pressure with his legs. It feels good to have a guy back there with some mobility that can evade defenders vs the statues we have had in the past. This kid has a bright future.
My point was that Stuckey seems to find a way to get wide open like that, being that he was the recipient of both of those passes. Who threw a better pass is irrelevant to what Stuckey is doing in space.
What the hell game were you watching ??? There wasn't a Giant within 5 yds of him ... So during the regular season how or why would that have changed ? Always look to the darkside .... 'cause there isn't a chance some player from the Jets or the team as a whole could have possibly made a nice play ...
