What's wrong with the thread title? He's just hearkening back to the Medieval period, when women who counted themselves among the German mystics wrote about their religious fervor in sexual terms. It's actually refreshing to see a poster so well versed in the themes of Mechthild and Beatrijs, although I do disagree with Jtuds' belief that God takes an active interest in the events of the field. This has long bothered me about some of today's athletes who seem to feel otherwise.
First off, very distasteful topic title. I'm no holy roller, but I don't see any need to stoop to that level. As far as the knucklehead who says the kid should keep it to himself... he posted on twitter. You don't like it, don't read it. It isn't like Muzak being piped into your elevator of life. I never much cared for when baseball players and othe sports pros make the sign of the cross. It is grandstanding. Ever see one do it after stiking out looking? You want to comment on some player's religous fervor, fine. Don't do it like this.
Not even so much as a plague of Locusts TGA. Then again, God did give us the 2009 Mets. That should be punishment enough.
As per Adam Shefter on Twitter @Adam_SchefterJets claimed punter Glenn Pakulak on waivers from Saints today. Pakulak averaged 47.7 yards per punt last year. Jets would take that.
Hodges needs to pray to god now. Per Adam Schefter: Jets claimed punter Glenn Pakulak on waivers from Saints today. Pakulak averaged 47.7 yards per punt last year. Jets would take that.
Hodges will be able to preach the word even more now, with all the spare time he will have on his hands come Week 1.
I'm actually very offended by the title of this thread, very unneccessary. I don't care what your belief is, that is your choice, but to bash those that do believe is wrong. I admire those that want to stand out and are not afraid to express what they believe. Let it be.
how about you follow your own advice. or are you proudly a hypocrite? either you believe people should keep their opinions to themselves, which would include you as well, or they should feel free to express them, as he has, regardless of the subject matter, making your brief yet inane post hypocritical and revealing of your own inability to even understand the rationale behind your own thoughts. no wonder you are so offended by others opinions, because if you don't understand even what you think and say, how could you possibly grasp what someone else is saying and meaning.
let it go, or better yet return the fun and mock what they believe in. don't take it so personal. I'm more offended by the lack of logic like in sec314's post than whether someone mocks religion, God or whatever.
Nice profile pic JetsBuckeye. Hopefully he'll be able to pressure the QB this year. As for the guy in the black shirt - just a waste of space.
If you have been in a science class within the past 120 years, well then, nevermind. Basically, it doesn't have to be so serious.
